As a school bus driver, the hours are around the normal start and end times of the school day. Most of our drivers are on the road between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., and return to base by 9:00 or so. Then, unless a noon time run is available, the driver has the middle of the day off work. Most drivers like this schedule, because it gives them time for personal appointments, college courses, or taking care of young children at home during the day. Drivers return in the afternoon, usually getting on the road by about 2-2:30 p.m. and returning to base around 4-4:30.
