Micromanaging and Toxic
Dentist (Former Employee) - Texas - October 31, 2023
Ideal dental watches over all KPIs of everything you do and will keep pushing numbers. They treat patients as numbers, not people. The head people in charge are very toxic and they do not care about their employees. I would not recommend working here.

Only for experience, would not recommend
Dentist (Former Employee) - United States - August 29, 2023
Worked as a dentist for this company for multiple years. Overall it was a fine job needed for experience as a new graduate, but would not recommend it for anyone else. Offices were not supplied with basic supplies needed to practice dentistry well and there were always budget issues that prevented from ordering (I had to buy many supplies out of my own money). Many offices understaffed, many with no hygienist so you will have fun being both hygienist and dentist. If a hygienist is ever introduced they stop compensating you for exams you conduct. Read your contracts well and understand what your production consists of and what happens if you want to terminate early. High turnover with staff at all levels. Unrealistic goals set for the offices. They like to say they are not like other DSOs, but they just care about production and have the same shady practices like any other, and in some aspects they are worse due to the lack of supplies and chronic budget issues. As far as compensation and benefits, for a company they were both below average.
Pros
Diverse company, experience for new graduate, modern offices
Cons
Everything else

Wouldn't recommend
General Dentist (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - August 14, 2023
I had a pretty awful time working for deca dental group. I did not agree with the treatment philosophies they push and also how production based they are. I was stressed the entire time working there and was so relieved to quite.

Money Hungry Corporation
Front Office Assistant (Former Employee) - Flower Mound, TX - July 9, 2023
The corporation is money hungry to the point where I didn't feel right working there. Main goal is making money regardless of what is best for the patients.

Fun work place, but management sucks.
Traveling Orthodontic Assistant (Current Employee) - Dallas, TX - July 5, 2023
Management says they can give you full time hours, but gives them away to new hires. You continuously have to ask for them to put you on the schedule every week. You don’t get raises, they say there’s a bonus-but there’s not! They used to pay you your hourly rate if you drove more than 45 minutes, now they only pay you 50 bucks every 2 weeks.

Wow! DECA is something to be a part of...
Director (Current Employee) - Dallas, TX - December 15, 2022
In my time here at DECA I have been so impressed with the career path and growth opportunities. It seems there are not many places left in the dentistry world that just 'get it'. They are extremely passionate about their guests and even more passionate about the development of their people. Because DECA is growing so much it is definitely a challenging place to work - but in the best possible way. This is a place for the best of the best and is not a company that stands for mediocrity or complacency. When you are passionate about dentistry and taking care of your teammates you are highly rewarded within the DECA Dental culture. Being part of something that's growing so fast while taking care of people is something I am going to proud to be a part of for many years to come!
Pros
Professional Development, A Culture of People, Recognition and Reward for hard work, 2023 Benefits improved dramatically, Investment in growth, Opportunities to promote from within
Cons
Growth is fast and can require a bit more grit and grind but the recognition and reward is worth it

1 star
Senior Regional Manager (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - October 15, 2022
What is the best part of working at the company? Not patient or employee centered. All they push for is money and not let the patient leave until treatment is done. It’s a cattle call. Neither patient or employee is safe. Dr Ahmed’s motto is hire slow fire fast, and always have someone’s replacement. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Corporate and how little they work with patients What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Intimidating What is a typical day like for you at the company? Spending all by our money and messing up your car to run around thier offices to make sure oms are actually holding thier team accountable. No vehicle or gas compensation

Good company but short staffed and overworked
Dental Hygienist (Former Employee) - DFW - August 9, 2022
The company overall is ok to work for but being short staffed for so long will cause you to be burned out quickly. Some of the staff is helpful but some are slackers with no repercussions. It makes the hard workers feel severely over worked due to having to continually pick up the slack. There is also pressure to sell extra products and services. The good health insurance is not affordable so the only other option is a discount plan that doesn't cover much.
Pros
decent compensation
Cons
health insurance is not good for clinical employees

Wonderful Place to Work!
Insurance Specialist (Current Employee) - Dallas, TX - January 14, 2022
This company has given me my passion for dentistry AND humanity back. This company saw/see my personal needs and accommodate me to the best of their abilities. I've had a multitude of personal family issues and illness arise this year that most companies would give me the boot for but not DECA...the management team understood that these issues were completely out of my hand and helped me cope and figure out solutions that would help me and my little family without compromising the vision and culture of DECA. My life is not perfect and they get it!! That matters to me!! I, of couse, as an adult, will ALWAYS hold myself accountable for my actions/decisions and with DECA doing all they can for me, makes me want to do all I can for them, especially hold that accountability to myself. I have finally found a work family that I love and trust.
Pros
Open communication, Friendly peers, compassionate leadership, great pay, great benefits

After 6 years of loyal work I was laid off by a letter in the mail.
RCM Specialist (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - January 4, 2022
It does not matter how hard you work, solutions you suggest for more efficient workflow or the time you spent with the company, they do not care about their corporate staff.
Cons
the pay is terrible for the pressure and stress dept director puts on you.

Don't Work Here
Revenue Cycle Specialist (Current Employee) - Dallas-Fort Worth, TX - December 27, 2021
Management is a JOKE! They say they are always willing to work with everybody's schedule and or sudden emergencies, however that is not true. If you reach out to them they will not get back to you, vie reached out to management on more than one occasion and this particular person just leaves your messages on read and does not reply, but yet this persons role is to be there for all of us and according to them they will always respond. LIES they will never respond and just act like nothing happened. Must i mention that we did not even get a Christmas bonus or gift, at least last years $5.oo blanket & $1.00 candle is better than nothing, which doesn't make sense since there is money to open 15 more offices next years but not to give their employees a small gift of appreciation. You are better off working at another place than this company.
Pros
Work from home, when management feels like approving it.
Cons
No Christmas bonus
