Awesome place to work
Clinical Therapist (Current Employee) - Round Rock, TX - August 10, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI've known about Deep Eddy for most of my career as a counselor. If you've worked any other jobs in this industry you will quickly realize that this practice is a hidden gem. This community actually cares about me as a person. Management asks for and listens to my needs and feedback. But you don't have to take my word for it!
Pros
Pay is solid. Flexible hours. You can also supervise students and LPC-A.
Cons
None.

Growing too fast
Mental Health Therapist (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - October 16, 2023
I was really sold on this job. I couldn't believe I got an offer to work for such an amazing company. And then I find out that they are a complete s*** show. They are growing too fast to keep up with supporting the clinicians. Owners / management have several houses, meanwhile they make us use a terrible EHR system (which they decided on to make billing easy and is not userfriendly or relevant to clinicians), provide lackluster support with billing, collections (they don't actually go after any unpaid bills, so you just don't get paid if a client doesn't follow through), scheduling, etc. I work my a** off and bring home between $1800 and $2300 biweekly (seeing between 35-40 clients per week, couples and individuals). I'm always doing paperwork after hours and on the weekends. I never have any idea what my check will be and there's no way to check. Other staff feel the same (high turnover rate) and so do the clients. I have so many clients who share frustrations about the new system, professionalism of the staff, and billing errors. It's not the worst job I've ever had, but I'm totally burnt out and tired of the lip service offered by the owners/management. Once I'm settled in in a new state and get my license there, I'll be seeking new employment.

Psychologist (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - July 24, 2023
I feel so cared about at Deep Eddy and really can't believe what great people I work with. People support each other to grow personally and professionally and have great trainings, groups, retreats, etc. and a strong culture of inclusivity and authenticity. Beautiful offices for people who want to work in-person and overall just a supportive and nurturing place to be with lots of opportunity for growth and leadership.
Pros
very genuine, kind, good people and tons of support to grow as a person and professionally
Cons
most of pay is tied to how many sessions you do and seeing clients can be difficult/tiring

Therapists genuinely trying to make a difference in Texas
I came here from Thriveworks and have never looked back. I have been here for a few years. when I joined, I was honestly skeptical about how good it sounded on paper and everything they said about advocacy and desire to take care of their therapists. Thankfully, my doubts have faded away as a result of the loving and courageous culture of this community.
Pros
Hands-down the BEST group practice in Texas
Cons
If you don’t care about health insurance and retirement this may not be the best for you

Supportive community, lots of training
Mental Health Counselor/Therapist (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - July 21, 2023
I LOVE the people I work with, my clients and my coworkers. Great place to grow professionally and personally. Deep Eddy has a strong reputation and only hires top therapists. Pay depends on how many clients you see and since it's an employee job with all benefits it works well for my family.
Pros
Billing and scheduling done for you, free CEs every month, consultation groups, crisis support
Cons
Growing pains earlier this year due to transitioning to a new EHR.

Beware
therapist (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - July 11, 2023
I was challenged on my diagnosis and notes constantly by upper management. I have never experienced a job where my professional decision making was devalued. Management tries to present themselves as open minded and liberal, but I experienced allot disrespect and devaluing of my expertise. This organization does not want to pay benefits for a full time employee, although treats therapist like they are under supervision.
Pros
refferals
Cons
distrust of my professional knowledge and stereotyping
