Great district
6th and 8th grade reading teacher (Former Employee) –  Del Valle, TX 78617July 5, 2018
I enjoyed working at DVISD. DVMS was a supportive environment for students, teachers, and staff. The superintendent promoted the district positively and district administration was very positive when interacting with teachers in the various schools.
Pros
Helpful, supportive coworkers and administration
Cons

Stressful job
General Education Teacher (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMarch 30, 2018
The hardest part about the job were the destructive and dangerous behaviors of the children in the classrooms. There are many MANY things to do for the children and their families that must come first before they are able to be successful at school. Emotionally, there are children that create a tough classroom environment for all.

Teacher (Current Employee) –  Creedmoor, TXJanuary 28, 2018
Enjoyed school culture. Good colleagues and very helpful, very cooperative and staff very approachable.
Administrators helpful for the most part but, discipline has been a little problematic. It’s a long process before
We see any change by students. We are offered plenty of staff development throughout the school year and they pay all fees. We are allowed to attend various conferences within our disciplines of teaching. We can also, be involved in after school program at extra pay.
You are able to transfer to other campuses if you desire change but you still must interview for position.
All staff are allowed to bring own children to prospective campuses which is extremely convenient.
Pros
Can take time off when needed
Cons
Short lunches administration not always available

Working in DVISD is just like working in any public school. There are pros and cons. The best parts are the kids you teach and the colleagues you work with.

Fun work environment, the kids are great to be around
Enrichment Program Instructor (Current Employee) –  Del Valle, TXJuly 14, 2017
Usually there in the afternoon for the after school program. The kids are always full of energy which can sometimes be a good thing as well as a bad thing. Coworkers are easy to communicate with and help out whenever need be.

Makes you a better person working with students to shape a generation of the future. unfortunate the pay isn't on par with the work effort, emotion and stress that comes with the positions.

Structured Learning TA (Current Employee) –  Del Valle, TXAugust 11, 2016
They do not care about their employees and slack on the students education. The students are great but coworkers are messy and cause drama. I would not recommend this district.
