No planning, they just reacted. There was a lot of nepotism at DeLong's. Relatives and buddies got a free ride.
Transportation Manager (Former Employee) – Jefferson City, MO – November 16, 2018
The management at DeLong's would make last minute decisions, and then expect other departments to drop everything they had planned, and accommodate their last minute decision. Enjoyed the members of my team, we were the safest, most productive, and most reliable department in the company.
horrible management, buddies or relatives that can stand around doing nothing
Great place to work. Family owned company. Appreciative staff and management.
Current employee (Current Employee) – Jefferson City, MO – January 3, 2019
DeLong's has been a great place to work for over 25 years. The people are incredibly intelligent and hard-working. It's rewarding to see the finished product go out the door, whether it is a bridge, a building, or my neighbor's house beams. It is one of the few privately held companies that still has a fully funded defined benefit pension plan which the company provides at no cost to the employee.
Co-workers, Benefits, Family atmosphere, work-life balance
No planning, just react to problems. Nepotism is the way at DeLong's.
worker (Former Employee) – Jefferson City, MO – November 14, 2018
If you work hard, don't worry. They will give you more work to do, while the supervisor's pets stand around doing nothing. The more you do, the more they expect. The upper management has no idea what is going on, they live in their own little fantasy world.
If your name is the right one, you will move right on up the ladder.
Cheap, don't listen to employees, arrogant management
