Great people, terrible business model
Patient Care Coordinator (Former Employee) - Green Bay, WI - December 12, 2022
DA used to be a great place. Then they changed the business model and just keep adding to their corporate structure, leaving those on the floor in the trenches, leading to severe burnout among staff, not to mention leading to resentment. Maybe they can figure it out someday, before it’s too late!
Cons
Lousy training, HIGH TURNOVER & severe burnout.

Stressful work environment
Dental Assistant (Former Employee) - Green Bay, WI - November 4, 2022
Management is not good at all, very limited help, too long of hours, some doctors aren’t that good. Not fair with pay, not very respectful to some patients or employees and high stress work place. A lot of in and out with employees a lot of people eventually leave.

Money focused conglomerate
Registered Dental Hygienist (Former Employee) - Newtown, CT - August 31, 2022
I was an employee for many years under previous management and enjoyed my job and coworkers. Present management is unprofessional, disregards employee concerns, practices constant nepotism, and emotional decision making, leading to a very toxic environment.

Unprofessional management
Dental (Former Employee) - Kansas - August 13, 2022
Most of the staff is awesome here but not all. The pay is very low for all positions. The manager is unprofessional under pressure. I would not recommend working for this company.

Work day ok. Staff is problematic
HYGIENIST (Former Employee) - West Chester, OH - March 24, 2022
Truthfully, now that it’s not a 12 hr workday u can prob make it thru the day but excessive cattiness and inter office environment isn’t healthy. I experienced a constant dump of more work being added to duties. Remodeled office (no cordless polishers No support good or bad. It’s a general office turned more corporate approach , more and more duties , few raises,
Pros
Big windows
Cons
Raises are far between, upon exit Vaca pay and benefits are withdrawn

Cons
Long days, so many patients feeling entitled

Drama and Gossip
Dental Service Representative (Former Employee) - Green Bay, WI - July 1, 2021
Constant gossiping and drama here, management included! Felt like high school! Loved working with patients but the gossip is too much! If you’re not gonna be a brown noser and worship the ground that the Dentists/Hygienists walk on, don’t waste your time!
Pros
Popcorn
Cons
Gossip

Wonder place to work
Dental Assistant (Former Employee) - West Des Moines, IA - June 16, 2021
I very much enjoyed my time at Dental Associates. The other assistants and hygienist were friends and a no drama type of team. They like to keep employees educated on new technology.
Pros
Caring and understanding Dentists, help with health plan premiums
Cons
Office manager is passive aggressive and makes it difficult to speak with them when help is needed.

Just don't do it
DSR (Former Employee) - Franklin, WI - March 25, 2021
DA sounded like a great place to work at....I was fooled. They oversold the position HIGHLY. They say family environment, and it's far from it. Issues were constantly brought up to management and they didn't care and didn't listen. They praise the ones that do nothing and give them shoutouts. They don't seem to care about emergency medical issues that come up. I got scolded during my probation period (of 12 weeks no pto) for going to an urgent OBGYN appt. They don't give raises and it's impossible to move around. You feel tossed around and not cared about. They are only money hungry and only *some* actually care about patients

Jobs at Dental Associates
We work like a hamster in a wheel. Continuous work every 40 minutes we see a new pt.
RDH (Current Employee) - Green Bay WI - March 15, 2021
Most days are very busy with full schedules. Some days we do not get a break unless a pt cancels or no shows. One of the hardest parts of our job is when our team dr is out of the office, we must rely on the other dr to do our exams. There have been many times we are still waiting for an exam and out next pt has arrived. Another time consuming aspect is entering into computer and explaining to pt a large treatment plan. I have learned to mail large treatment plans to pt rather than get behind in schedule. Management has greatly improved, formerly was horrible. Most coworkers make the day enjoyable along with many pts.
Pros
free lunches few x year for meetings, service awards, benefits
Cons
lack of support from union, former mgmt

poor communication
Patient Care Coordinator (Former Employee) - Wauwatosa, WI - December 28, 2020
some co workers were nice and one wouldn't help when I asked a question. I was laid off due to covid and no one informed me of anything. I had to call HR to get answers and they weren't even that helpful
Pros
none
Cons
never informed

Work culture
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Milwaukee, WI - December 20, 2020
I worked there for 6 years and was great at my job. I got let go for the most BS reason. I was absolutely shocked. You are 100% expendable. There were a few wonderful people that were amazing to work with. For the amount of work I did and how well I made sure I did my job, I rarely got recognition for it. And the pay was very low for what everyone does there. It took me almost 6 years to make a $2.25 raise.
Pros
Their dental insurance is great! Paid holidays
Cons
Health insurance is horrible, Long hours, Low pay, So much drama.... so much, Corporate doesn’t care about you at all.

Good work place if you keep to yourself
Dental Assistant (Former Employee) - Fond du lac Wisconsin - October 27, 2020
To start off management is awful. They favor people. It’s a corporate office. The technology is great & doctors are nice to work with however a LOT of drama within the work place. Be prepared for rumors! They will try to low ball you when they give you an offer... so if your going to work here ask for a big pay! You will need it to be able to keep up with everything! Yes you do get benefits better than maybe other dental offices but the medical is not good! Very high deductible!!!
Pros
Free lunch sometimes in meetings
Cons
Drama, management, no culture

I really enjoyed my experience working here.
New Patient Care Coordinator (Former Employee) - Kenosha, WI - August 30, 2020
Great atmosphere and employees. Awesome patients and was happy to assist and help make comfortable and reassured. I have learned a lot from other departments and the fact we had always helped one another, you never felt alone in any task. I truly miss them all.
Pros
Learning something new constantly.
Cons
Nothing to report

Can’t Wait to Find a New Job
Clinical Supervisor (Current Employee) - Milwaukee, WI - August 2, 2020
The owners girlfriend, who has been promoted numerous times with little to no education to support her role should not be involved. Owner only considers the opinion of a few people

Overall good
Dental Assistant (Current Employee) - Appleton, WI - July 4, 2020
Better than a private practice potentially. There is a union which is nice so guaranteed raise. Some private offices can do “whatever” especially if family is involved.

Most of the employees are on food stamps
Clinical Supervisor (Former Employee) - WI - April 21, 2020
Daily harassment, low pay, ignorant managers, and a out of touch computer program. They will not bend for you, they will just watch you break. Do not waste your time.

You do more than most others and they complain that your don’t do enough never expect management to care our help. Expected to keep the entire lab going as well to keep every other part of the workplace going. Feel like doing 3 jobs in 1

Long Term Employees
Administrative Assistant/Former Department Head (Current Employee) - Marquette, MI - January 21, 2020
Most all the employees here are long term employees. Good benefits, good pay, great patients to work with, largest dental office in Upper Michigan. You'll never be bored.
