On our benefits, we have great health care with 100% coverage after the family deductible is met, not one of those 80/20 plans that leaves you saddled with 20% of medical bills. The 401k match amounts are reviewed annually, so the current amount is under review. Paid vacation does accrue after a year, which is pretty standard for a career position, but unpaid time off is available as soon as needed with no detriment to your career as long as the time is approved.
In terms of employees creating a hostile work environment, you were given a number to contact on your first day of employment to report any inappropriate behavior. Based on your comment, I assume you failed to do this or that the behavior is not as you stated. We strive for a great environment and hold staff accountable for it, but can only do that when it is reported. In the interview, we ask no illegal questions and this is reviewed regularly by our HR team. Perhaps you should have read your interview disclosure more closely so as to be better prepared. Your statement on marijuana usage is also grossly inaccurate and the "manager" you spoke to is not the hiring manager and thus is not involved in this policy and would not be aware of it.
In terms of sales, we never "encourage" dishonesty to our customers and the goal is to the customer get their best nights rest. I think you grossly misunderstood our focus, but again, if you felt something incorrect was going on in your store, you could have reached out and chose not to do so. We also monitor discounts daily and see no record of these discounts you claim. Again, you are incorrect on the inventory item statement. All you need to know is the name and we have a scanner operated system. Obviously, we were and are not a good fit for each other, but we are for numerous people who have found an incredible long term career with us. Best of luck to you. less

Thank you for your review. I believe may have us confused with another company. We pay all of our hostlers based on number of hauls, with the same starting base hourly for new hostlers. Faster movers make more as they do more loads. Our road to our yard has been paved for over 2 years, and the field is regraded regularly following inclement weather. We appreciate your view, but firmly disagree with it. Our managers are empowered to plan and execute nearly all aspects of running their stores, including, but not limited to leading the training of employees and the execution of their store's operations. Perhaps you didn't feel like a manager because you failed to do these things which also likely lead to your pay reduction due to the lower performance of your store. In addition, we advertise regularly in many areas of media so to say we don't advertise is a grossly inaccurate statement from someone who doesn't understand current advertising trends. After reading your review, I feel that you have some major misunderstandings on what this job is all about. You were hired as a Sales Management Trainee. In that position, our store management team will invest a great deal of time in teaching you all aspects of running this business. We will walk you through the entire sales process in a comprehensive manner until you have displayed the understanding of the program well enough to help our customers. From that point on, we continue to work with you, to improve your skills, for as long as you work for Denver Mattress. And yes, we are selling managers! We set the example every day on the presentations and level of service that we want for our customers. We don’t compete for sales, we lead by example. In terms of selling "$5k mattresses", you ignored some things in your training as we focus on the guest experience for all our mattresses, and our most popular mattress is $600, but you don't seem to want to focus on that detail. Which brings me to cleaning the restrooms. Let’s re-visit all aspects of running the business. An important part of providing an excellent customer experience is making sure everything looks clean, fresh, and inviting for our customers. We’ll all participate in maintaining our building to deliver this important part of the guest experience, and this is explained early on in your employment process. Finally, I take exception to your comment about disrespect towards a manager. I am the GM of Denver Mattress and I have never treated any employee of the company with abuse or disrespect. I get from your review that you are frustrated, but embellishing it with complete falsehoods doesn’t help anything. It seems to me you were looking for a straight sales position; pay me for what I sell, and leave me alone. That, fortunately, is not what we are about at Denver Mattress. We invest in our people, we deliver the best customer experience in the industry, and we work as a team. That’s why we have so many 20 year employees still with us. I would recommend you read job postings more clearly, because the $70,000 per year income is upon promotion to store manager, as outlined in the job description. Good luck in your career search.
