I've worked at several fortune 500 companies, so I'm no wide-eyed recent graduate, and this is the worst culture I've ever encountered.
Employee requests and concerns are viewed with skepticism and suspicion. New ideas are ignored as scary and unfamiliar. Managers are clueless and disorganized. Everyone is terrified of the CEO. There is 'no budget' for BASIC workplace tools. Their PTO and sick time is a joke--like working in a factory. Oh, and your colleagues are miserable and grouchy--one sympathizes.
I was told that people are constantly leaving, and I believe it. That's exactly what I did.
Save yourself the aggravation--don't bother applying. The job descriptions and requirements are exaggerated anyway.
I would say if you enjoy listening to beeping and not being able to talk to people... this job is for you. otherwise its stressful and not worth the headache. Management is poor. Fellow employees are just as bad granted you don't have to see them all that much. Trains are terrible and break down all the time causing delays in service as well as other headaches. You are alone in the cab which wouldn't be bad if you could have music instead of beeping ever few seconds for a 12 hour shift. beeping is required due to the systems it runs but that's literally all you hear and its very annoying.
