Policy dictates that overtime is sometimes allowed, but must be pre-approved which contradicts the reality of the situation. It is literally impossible to complete the necessary workload without putting in a 12-hour day or working 7 days per week and often times both. Most people in the same position that I surveyed do not report the actual hours they work.
