Things have changed
PMO/ Project Management (Former Employee) –  New York, NYDecember 7, 2018
Started my career at DB in 1997. Things were great, plenty of responsibility and leadership opportunities when I had US managers. Then restructuring took place just as I was coming back from maternity leave. Hasn't been the same since. I had male managers with no children who were reluctant to honor DB telecommuting policies for work/life balance. The many scandals, federal fines and outsourcing to India, massive layoffs took its toll on the organization. Morale was in the toilet. My last 5 years at DB were not enriching at all.

At Deutsche Bank you are surrounded by many talented people all functioning in a technologically dysfunctional organization. You are given great band width to take on and tactically enhance all aspects of your areas of responsibility.
Pros
Great people
Cons
Too focused on cost cutting and lacking concrete strategy around Revenue growth

Good place to work
Vice President (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLDecember 3, 2018
Good employer with highly motivated staff. Employees are encouraged to manage their own career and given the ability to do so. There are opportunities to move internationally which is a good way of growing and showing the individuals ability in a different setting and outside of their comfort zone. Mostly managers are strong and set the right standards for those working for them.

A dysfunctional company
Systems Engineer (Current Employee) –  New York, NYDecember 2, 2018
Dysfunctional was a word given to the company by the CIO before she left, following one of the many, many changes in management and direction. The bureaucracy is overwhelming.

Her assessment is correct.
Pros
Company pulling back to Germany, its roots.
Cons
Bureaucracy

Deutsche Bank is currently a rudderless company
Vice President / Change Management (Former Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 29, 2018
While Deutsche Bank once had a solid reputation and strong global presence across various segments of the banking industry, it has suffered from lack of committed strategy as well as senior management turnover. These factors have led to diminished morale and lack of a unified vision.

Consultant/Contractor (Former Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 28, 2018
I was with DB for 13 years. Made friends, committed to the company. They eventually lost me due to bad processes for long term people but I miss the place.

A changing and challenging company... Going through a great deal... Most not good. Culture is changing, managers changing... They will eventually bounce back, but right now... It is unstable.

a poor depressing environment to work in
Assistant Vice President (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 27, 2018
Deutsche Bank has struggled over the years with too many changes in management and direction of the company. With failure in proper leadership employees were left questioning the direction of their future. Opportunities vanished and employee promotions became non-existent. Sadly, the company is a sinking ship and is no longer what it once was as a top-tier investment bank.

Deutsche is having some tough times, but they are committed to moving forward. During this time of restructuring there is not much opportunity for advancement, but things will turn around once the restructuring is complete.

Complex organization with lots of structural issues that provides plenty of opportunity for change
Managing Director (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 13, 2018
I was able to establish team that was driving strategic change and bring in the 'outside-in' view on many topics. Experienced many management changes over the last 2 years, making it difficult to drive sustainable change agenda.

Underutilization and poor management
Technology Summer Analyst (Former Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 12, 2018
Managers tend to be out of touch and work from home far too often. Usually there isn't enough work to keep you busy, and the systems are all outdated. Hours are good.
