Pay's well but you earn it
VP Technology (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLJuly 17, 2018
DB is a very challenging place to work. It pays well, but you earn it. A significant portion of the day is taken up by meetings, leaving you little precious time to complete tasks.

The company is very much a political minefield. In many cases its who you know not necessarily what you know.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Meetings, culture, inability of senior management to set clear direction and make management decisions.

Experience so long ago
Training (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 16, 2018
My experience at DB was a long time time and really positive. Currently, the business seems unstable and most people I knew there have already left. No current valid view or recommendation.

Best environment, best managers, and overall a great corporate in all aspects for professional development. It helped with my overall professional development, learning business professionally and knowledge sharing and training was the best that I experienced at this corporate.

Trade Specialist (Current Employee) –  Santa Ana, CAJuly 11, 2018
- Typical day at work for a trade specialist is very productive and constantly dealing with the unexpected issues.
- I've learned to be a quick problem solver.
- The hardest part of the job is to meet daily cutoff without failed trades.
- The most enjoyable part of the job is joking around with colleagues.

The employees did not mix well.
Investment Associate (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLJuly 2, 2018
Each team worked and spoke with only other members of their team. I believe if there had been more intermingling of teams, the atmosphere would have been better.
Pros
Cafeteria located in the building. Given an hour for lunch
Cons
Everybody seemed hesitant about making friends.

Well Paid, but challenged organizationally
Project Team Member (Current Employee) –  Cary, NCJune 26, 2018
Company has excellent pay and adequate benefits but the lack of organizational focus, over abundance of meetings and difficult to understand management strategy and strategic vision make for a lot of questions about its future.

Good company, but poor renewal process for contractors
ULL Delivery Mgr / Sr. Project Mgr (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 25, 2018
Contractors need to be renewed every 90 days so no real sense of long term employment as you are only budgeted for 90 days at a time. Also requires you to carry a good amount of insurance.
Pros
Competent colleagues
Cons
Poor conditions for contractors

Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 25, 2018
Okay place to work, would not rush to be hired there as its more like a sinking ship. Chaotic to work in the environment and upper management is clueless about their own process and governance.

Great work/life balance
Associate, Information Technology (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLJune 19, 2018
I have been very happy working at Deutsche Bank these last 4 years. Because of my location I am limited on advancement. Management does not do what I feel to be enough to help their employees get noticed and if you are a strong performer you could easily get stuck in the same role for a long time.

A bank in flux
Business Consultant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 13, 2018
DB is currently in a state of flux. culturally, this company is deeply siloed and more often than not, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Achieving appropriate levels of productivity in this place is quite challenging.

brand name

Vice President (Former Employee) –  Cary, NCJune 12, 2018
Dont expect to contribute and grow here. Talent and innovation will be punished if you dont belong to the right group. All the new things are mostly talk and no body wants to change anything
Pros
Good salary, 401k and benefits
Cons
Bad work culture and they live in a decade old technology

Poor management
Vice President (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 12, 2018
The management is not good. I received very good reviews but never good compensation. I watched an MD come from another company and completely replace the existing team reducing costs by hiring less qualified people and receiving excessive compensation for doing so......... This could be a great bank but not with the current culture.....

low morale
Assistant Vice President (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 6, 2018
Low Morale within the employees. Could feel the negative energy as soon as you walk into the building.

High turnover, was a big revolving door.

Poor Bonus structure

Good benefits, good leave, great medical center in the building.

Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 4, 2018
This was a contract assignment for a short period of time. During my tenure at Deutsche Bank a typical day at work was handling calendars for two Managing Directors at the Wealth Management Group, Travel logistic and Expense reports.

Right the ship
VP (Former Employee) –  Cary, NCJune 4, 2018
For the company to succeed moving forward or have any hope of turning the ship around executive management needs to totally clean out senior and middle management and realign to the company values as this is not followed even though it is preached.

At management levels no accountability is exercised, too much politics covering each others backs and nobody prepared to stick their necks out.

There are some great people around who believe in doing the right thing but these individuals are either moved sideways or pushed out as invariably they are targeted as the blame guy/gal when unrealistic commitments promised by management are not kept.
Pros
Good benefits and fair salary
Cons
Unscrupolous management
