You have to be in one of the clicks, If they like you and you keep your mouth shut you'll get promoted. Doesn't matter how hard you work or put your best foot forward. If they don't like you , You won't stand a chance to get promoted in this company, maybe out the door after they set you up. Hopefully the man in charge will start to look at his trusted staff they are the reason why managers and DSPs are quitting. The problem is in upper management

I have been working at Devereux for almost 2 years. And I was offered a position of advancement within my 3month but I felt I needed more time. I waited and was offered another position and currently a supervisor. I’m definitely not part of a “click” and my coworkers/partners on the floor are far from the negative things mentioned in earlier statements... we are not complainers of what was described as a failing institution, we are people that truly love and care about what we choose to do for a living and helping children in need and making a real difference in a young persons life is what we do... I believe if you don’t like it change it! I enjoy what I do and love working at Devereux!

Stay clear and far away from Devereux it's an unprofessionally run company all they care about is profits padding numbers falsifying documents forcing workers to work insurmountable time of overtime and not sticking to the treatment plan for the kids they're not really preparing the kids for release they're not giving the kids any Independent Living skills and most of the workers have no experience in the field when they came to Devereux you're talking about kids just like elderly people you need the most experience and degree holding workers to serve your population not someone who has been digging a ditch or as a surfer you need someone with experience

There are some but really realistically there aren't any they don't respect people who have experience or have degrees they pay people who quit Walmart was working at Dunkin Donuts or gas station the same amount of money people that have experience in the grid that's not a place that you want to be because they are filled with a bunch of unprofessional and experience people

Inner circle people. They protect their own and if you don't belong you won't move forward regardless of your qualifications or what you've contributed.

This place only promotes people who fall in line and don't have an opinion or voice...if you're simply a yes man. You'll do well. All of the higher ups are friends and hang out, so promoting outside of their circle in highly unlikely. Nepotism is very alive and well within this organization.

You have to be in with the clique. Advancement off merit doesn't exist there. I have witnessed only "friends" or family of the upper management advance.

It's a popularity contest to be honest. If you're friends with upper management then you've got it locked in. If not, then good luck somewhere else.

It depends on how much extra work you put in, who you know, who likes you in higher up positions, how much schooling you have, and if you have any negative history while working at Devereux.
