Terrible Management
Phlebotomists (Former Employee) –  Denver, COJanuary 19, 2019
I worked for this company four years constantly having a pay increase only later to have your pay decrease with different shifts. Lots of favoritism and no support as an employee. If a nursing facility would call and complain of your service the would only work with the facility. Pay was very poor starting at 12.00 first job out of school, raises were very minimal. Stressful driving plus stress in the facilities especially on Sunday. You could easily work 12 hours never given overtime they would send you home early throughout the week. Owner is the son who hires his own friends to work in sales and management. The phlebotomy supervisor only works in office never willing to help with work load she left Schryver and came back when called to take over department. Low morale. Quick to get rid of bad employees. Stay away from this company beware.

Decent Job. Poor managment
Ultrasound Technician (Former Employee) –  Sacramento, CADecember 14, 2018
7 hrs a day mostly driving, I saw 4 patients typically a day. There’s no advancement or raises. There’s no team effort, you’re on your own. It’s a job for experience, not longevity.
Pros
Decent pay, flexible hours
Cons
Not guaranteed 8hrs daily work due to work load

Computer Operator (Former Employee) –  Burbank, CAOctober 10, 2018
This is a great place... so long as you are friends with your supervisor or manager. It's extremely busy, the pay is poor, and people have a higher then you attitude.

The work place is disgusting, the carpet hasn't looked to have been replaced in years. It looks like someone played doctor frankestein with it. Computers and phones are out dates, and there is little true management. Many managers try to focus on being your friend instead of being a manager.

If you join the team, good luck. Use it only as a steeping stool to the next job. The pay and the people aren't worth it.
Pros
Pto
Cons
fluctuating rules, poor management, favoritism.

Excellent place to work and you challenged your knowledge in knowing how to draw members. Everyone helps you including at the nursing facilities.
Mobile Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CASeptember 21, 2018
I love working there especially when you are starting has a phlebotomist. They give people an opportunity to become part of their team and family. Everyone there including dispatchers are very helpful. Yes you do get written up when you miss up. But it is consider a learning experience because when phlebotomist works at hospitals. Laboratory supervisors at the hospitals don’t forgive you like this company does by giving you warnings. Hospitals do write and terminates you based on your mistakes. I do recommend working for this company it is challenging but worth it! I do miss working for them and drawing at the nursing facilities. This company has great flexibility and benefits. Management are the best instructors here! Anyone whom likes working with people this is the best job for you! And the great experience you will gain working for this company!!

I worked long hours for fair pay but the team leader was difficult to work with since she didn't like to allow people to share in their ideas to make work better or more efficient

Horrible place to work
Phlebotomist (Current Employee) –  Arlington, TXMarch 15, 2018
A starter job for new phlebotomist but that's it! Management doesn't care about you it's all about making money for them. If there's a problem with a facility or you were in an accident no one will help you or even answer a phone. Most facilities always have 2 or 3 nurses that don't want to fill out the paperwork and tells you that they are "too busy" while they are sitting at the desk doing nothing. Management would rather threaten to fire you or write you up for doing your job but only in text messages. Very high turn over rate, very little pay and no raises ever! Stopped matching 401k's. Just work there log enough to get the experience you need and then get out because they will work you to death and not care about you as long as you get their blood in. They tell you it's a Monday thru Friday job but then will make you work on the weekends. Never get off on time expected to work from 3am to 3pm or later some days. Will text you all day every day. Your never "off work" with them.
Cons
No lunch break if working routes, no 401k matching, never puts in your vacation or sick time, no one answers their phone, work way to much for horrible pay

Great job to gain experience as a new phlebotomist! Highly recommend mainly for experience!!
Mobile Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Duarte, CAJanuary 27, 2018
Paid training, up to couple months or until ready. Different shifts available throughout the day for example 3am to 11am or 3pm to 11pm or even 5 to 6 hrs a day minimum. Mon thru Friday. Weekends available also. Service mainly nursing homes but psych facilities and care homes as well. Some facilities are busier than others. Some may have up to 10-15 patients to be done and others may have 3, 5, or sometimes none to do. Monday's tend to be busier so you can start an hour early if you'd like. It can be fast paced if you have lots of patients to do and make sure you get their blood drawn before 7:30am because that's the time they start eating breakfast. For the most part they do not have to be fasting so it's ok. Its best to check the lab book for the next day so you can see which facility you should start with for fasting patients. Nurses are pretty nice if you are nice to them as well. They are really busy so they might get annoyed if you bug them for certain signatures and incomplete lab papers. Do not argue with them at all. You will seem bad. Just let your supervisor know. Communication is key and really important. Do everything by the book or else you can loose your job!! U will NOT get fired for being slow or if you can't get the blood from patient but you WILL if you are careless and/or do mistakes and not follow rules! Do not trust patients! Always ask nurses for any questions or doubts you may have. The only con I do have is that you are using your own car to drive around up to 30 miles a day and in the long run you will deteriorate your vehicle!!!
Pros
Unsupervised 99% of the time, nurses are cooperative if you are nice to them
Cons
Low wage, 13 an hr for starters, using your own car & putting lots of miles into it

Radiologic Technologist (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJanuary 12, 2018
The day to day variances in people and places I encounter keeps things interesting. The work is rewarding and often challenging. The company culture does not engender loyalty, particularly, and lack of 401k match is a huge negative.
Pros
Never the same
Cons
No retirement help, or raises

Mobile Phlebotomist in Nursing Homes Drawing (Former Employee) –  Mantea, CADecember 29, 2017
My typical day starts with the dispatchers' call. I had very good relations with dispatch team. Then I let my manager know about my schedule and ETA for each job. I interact with people on different facilities and never got any negative feedback. I learned a lot from my manager and coworkers.

DL was not concerned about the employees. Many decisions were made without consulting with the people who do the work. Working for DL, you always had to watch your back.
