Fine
Participant Services Specialist (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDSeptember 5, 2017
It is fine. I mean it is a job that pays you so whatever. Cannot say that I love it but I do not hate it. They pay me enough to be relatively content.

Once you understand how to do your job then it gets smooth. While stressful at times, the people you work with would help you out with any problems and would listen.

Hard to Advance
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDJune 15, 2017
In my experience, it is very hard to advance at this company. They usually pick favorites or hire VPs out of other companies.

The culture here is great - they promote wellness and taking walks outside.

I enjoy working here - but not sure if I will want to/can ever advance.
Pros
Promotes Wellness, Free stuff, Free classes
Cons
Hard to advance, VPs pick favorites.

Great culture, beware HR policies
Participant Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDJune 6, 2017
Co-workers are friendly, the work is stressful at times. No bereavement leave and any disciplinary action stays on file with HR for the duration of your employment.

Fun and genuine
Senior Operations Specialist (Current Employee) –  Buffalo, MNMay 16, 2017
Discovery Benefits is a fun place to work with genuine hard-working people. The only downside is that it's average wages are pretty low relative to similar positions at other companies. To make up for it the benefits are very good.
Pros
Great benefits, good people
Cons

Great culture, fair compensation and benefits, and an overall enjoyable place to work. Another great aspect of DBI is the company loves to hire internally and promote personal growth.

Productive, fun, fast-paced
Operations Specialist (Former Employee) –  Fargo, NDJanuary 4, 2017
The culture here is like none other. You meet other people in other departments through the volunteering and extra work you do. It doesn't hurt that there is a work out room, fireplace, slide, and ping-pong tables in the break room. They are very much into making you a better person, both professionally and mentally.
Pros
great culture
Cons
you can only advance so far

Pros
great working environment

Good people, not great pay
INTEGRATION ANALYST (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDSeptember 7, 2016
The work environment at DBI is great and the people are friendly, but the job advancement and pay aspect leave something to be desired. They choose to create more jobs and salaries for upper management than any kind of competitive pay for lower level employees.

Fun workplace with lots of great people
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDMarch 18, 2016
The company is a great place to work. The expectations regarding work loads is unacceptable. Micromanagement and unreachable expectations with large workloads and mandatory overtime for months on end.
Pros
Good environment, great people
Cons

Technical Writer - Risk Assessments (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDJanuary 5, 2016
The company is great, culture is great - especially for those under 35 years old.

There are some great perks; the culture committee works hard to have fun days throughout the year.

Great place to work, Much Ping Pong
IT Service Desk Technician (Current Employee) –  Fargo, NDNovember 4, 2015
Discovery Benefits preaches culture, culture and more culture. They are always providing different activities during the year for the employees. Dodge ball, kickball, ping pong tournaments, charity funds are only a few but there are many, many more events that are planned throughout the year. This is a great place to work and you will love the people that you work with.

The downside is, their wages are not as high as other businesses in Fargo. A lot of employees that Discovery Benefits needs to keep will leave because of this.
Pros
culture, events, people
Cons
competitive wages not so competitive

Lack of flexibility
ADMINISTRATION CLERK (Former Employee) –  Fargo, NDMarch 2, 2014
This company requires regular attendance, beyond the point of being reliable, to almost extreme. There is zero flexibility for emergencies that may arise. Benefits were good, but offset some by inflexibility for emergencies.
