A typical day at work included performing restaurant tasks such as cleaning dishes, bussing tables, or working on the cook line depending on what I was assigned for that day. I learned how to manage a cook line along with being responsible for other workers due to my two years of experience in that work environment making me responsible for coordinating daily tasks. The management was rather erotic and fast paced with new managers coming in and going out after a few months including unexperienced managers. Most daily tasks were on the shoulders of the cooks to complete. The workplace culture was very diverse and direct. Perkins restaurant was very open to hire giving many employees opportunities to work but also cutting employees for not showing up. The hardest part of the job was coping with the management changes all the time and pushing unmotivated workers to complete tasks. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning to manage workplace tasks and learn a variety of jobs.
A normal day would be coming in at 7am, and clean whatever was waiting for me. then i would just keep up with my work through out the day and what ever other tasks were assigned to us and i always finished my work on time and never left a half hour past closing
Family owned business that is not like a job; it is a wonderful place to work. Awesome management, colleagues, staff, working conditions, salary, etc. I cannot think of anything negative to say about DHM; I absolutely love my job.
