New Management Ineffective
Manager (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCMay 3, 2018
Too many changes at once. The culture has changed significantly in a less than positive direction. Employee satisfaction is down. There is little concern for utilizing existing expertise. Mistakes are made and no accountability. This encourages lack of interest and ownership for the success of organization by employees.

Great place to Work!
Human Resources Generalist (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCOctober 20, 2015
The DC Bar is a great employer - cares about their employees and their career! The DC Bar was a first employer for me and I can say I was 100% satisfied while employed there. The professional environment allows for employees to excel and grow their skill set. The employee events were a blast. The benefits and salary was competitive as well.
Pros
Great benefits package including a Pension Plan!

Don't ever work here
Member Service Center Assistant (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCAugust 7, 2015
People here are very petty and make you feel highly uncomfortable. If you're looking for a career, it's definitely not at the DC Bar. You'd have a more promising career walking over hot coals with your bare feet. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Nothing

Senior Processor
Senior Processor (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCJune 17, 2014
This position is one that has different levels of volume be it dues season or pro bono donation season. It is fast paced and involves attention to detail as one has to make sure all membership requests (that involve payments) adhere to the DC Bar bylaws.
Once the mail is received and sorted, all payments and requests are entered real time and all necessary documentation (confirmation letters, membership kits, subscriptions ... etc) are mailed out.
Daily queries are run for payments received by lockbox or general membership reporting
This position works closely with IT to make sure that pertinent information is captured.
Pros
Once you learn the formula, it is smooth sailing for the most part
Cons
The volume is challenging depending on the season

Sr. Customer Service and Registration Assistant (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCAugust 1, 2012
Working at the bar has taught me how to work collaboratively across different departments and individuals. It's interesting to gain the perspectives of your co-workers to reach one common goal or achieve an objective.
