WAS a great place to work
Delivery Lead (Former Employee) –  Montgomeryville, PAJanuary 31, 2018
Working for door to door was great. It was a laid back atmosphere and you could mostly just do your job and your own pace without a whole lot of pressure. Unfortunately following Amazon's purchase of Whole Foods, the investors backing the company and its growth pulled out and operations just needed overnight. too bad.
Pros
Independence.
Cons
Long Hours, driving in bad weather.

Delivery Driver (Former Employee) –  Ottsville, PAJanuary 18, 2018
A wonderful place to work. Amazing people and a great business model supporting local farms and delivering organic food. I would have loved to stay with the company longer and move up, but unfortunately they went out of business.

DTDO was a fast paced environment with a laid back atmosphere that made work fun as long as the daily tasks were finished to company standards. The company had great people working for it.

Great company that had a great message
Production Lead (Former Employee) –  Montgomeryville, PANovember 28, 2017
Door to Door Organics was a company that truly cared about its customers and its employees at the end of the day in an understandably narrow market. Despite unorthodox hours, the large majority of the staff maintained a positive and forward-thinking outlook towards the packaging and deliveries, and the on-site management worked diligently day by day with employees through tougher times for all involved. Unfortunately, many corporate decisions made the actual work at the various locations exceedingly difficult over time. I approved of the new CEO and his team, these decisions were NOT their doing and instead they were the doing of previous executives.
Pros
great culture, free food, friendly coworkers & management
Cons
hours (1am to 10 am), little career options

Wish I was still working for DTDO. They had great benefits and I loved the casual workplace. Unfortunately all of DTDO ceased operations - all locations nationwide are closed for business.

Small company trying to make their way in a growing food market
Quality Assurance Lead/Scrum Master (Current Employee) –  Denver, COOctober 26, 2017
This company is doing their best to make their way in a part of the online grocery world that is quickly becoming overrun by the likes of Amazon. This company is small enough that most of the employees wear many hats and therefore have lots of opportunity to learn. The downfall of that is those people tend to work a lot of hours.

Boulder
Office Manager and Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Louisville, COSeptember 14, 2017
It is a very Boulder company....bike shorts, bare feet, dogs in the office, laid back place.

It was undergoing a merger while there which made things very stressful.

The best job I've ever had
Warehouse Packer (Former Employee) –  Lafayette, COApril 19, 2017
Door to Door Organics is an amazing job with tons of room for advancement if you put in effort. Management is great, hours are decent. The company has gone downhill since leaving their partnership with relay foods and ever since they had been cutting hours. The people that work there are very fun to be around and it's a fairly easy job.
Pros
Free organic produce, great pay, fun environment
Cons
Cutting hours, lots of repetitive motion, 2am to 12pm shifts

Sr. Produce Buyer (Former Employee) –  Louisville, COFebruary 17, 2017
Had a great time working here. Unfortunate that I was laid off along with about 100 other employees. The culture was exactly what I was looking for and wish them nothing but success.

Good mission and company culture
Senior Merchandising Manager (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJanuary 1, 2017
I've been working for Door to door Organics for the past two years and enjoyed the culture and positioning of the company. The focus on the customer is definitely present across the whole value chain, as we are trying to deliver the freshest and best quality produce to our customers. The environment is laid back, there is food around and the office in colorado in pet friendly.
The business model is complex and challenging and management hasn't been successful in giving a clear direction, strategy and structure to the company.

The only hardest part of the job was forth-lifting. The co-workers was helpful and nice. The enjoyable part of the job was packing the food and shipping it.

Where to begin...
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) –  Lafayette, COAugust 18, 2016
Where to even start? Let's start with coworkers. A lot of them are fun, chill, relaxed and are all mostly on the same page with a lot of things. Then there are some who are favored. Show up late, leave early with nothing ever being done against them. Some other people try and leave early for doctors appointments, etc and are threatened to be written up. Favoritism is part of it. Let's talk management. For one, they don't do well with background checks or have a good sense of character. One of the "line captains" was arrested at work mid-shift. Good pick on management, not. The new "production manager" has let the warehouse get so dirty that it's impossible to keep up with the tasks to clean it. Full time employees are expected to much of one person. Same with part time employees. They started hiring part timers for "job A" but they get "job B". Not what they advertise. Their turnover rate is unreal! They probably go through 10 people a month and that's being nice to say. The job itself isn't hard at all, but with poor mangement, high turnover rates and don't even get me started on only one break per 8 hour shift. It is not even worth the job. I highly suggest looking else where. Save your time and yourself.
Pros
Free box of food
Cons
Pretty much everything
