  • Just for safety reasons, it's a good idea to have a partner. One drives while the initial licensee deliver foods

  • Yes me and my husband are both door dashers and we ride together now we always make sure the food is in side of the doordash bags zipped shut the only time it isnt is if its too big of an order in which we make sure its on back seat and nobody touches it .

  • I take my husband with me... If I am a 1099 employee (independent contractor) them I'll do what I want and long as it's representing Doordash professionally! I always take the food to the door but he drives and does GPS!! We make a great team and my timing is much better bc of him!!

  • Yes this is a dangerous Sid snob especially when it’s dark and you are lost or going to a neighborhood that you don’t know. Two is better then 1

  • This is not helpful as it doesn't address the reason for the statement given. DD never stated in the TOS or during any call or chat I have engaged them in that having another person in your car was forbidden, prohibited, a bad idea or against company policy.

  • I drove for Doordash, up until March because of the virus. I always drove alone but back then I could. Now, because of the virus and the fact that I have a hearing disability and people are wearing masks, I haven't been able to you to figure out how I'm going to work alone. Seeing on here how many people are bringing their spouse or a friend is encouraging. You are an independent contractor and basically can do what you want to. I and my husband are both on Disability and I was doing this part-time to supplement our income, which isn't that much. I guess my point is you do what you have to do to get by. If you have to bring someone with you, it really is nobody else's business. Good luck!

  • My boyfriend drives while I do all the pick ups and deliveries. I do go by myself but if we want to do night dashing, he will drive for me and be there for safety purposes. You are an independent contractor.

  • My husband rides a long with me. It's much safer, especially at night for a woman. He is there in case something might happen. For the customers safety though I NEVER let him hand the order to the customer because hey are expecting me not someone else. The customer is excepting me to hand them their food because my name is on their delivery app, I do however let him pick up the order from the restaurant.

  • Yes its allowed you are an independent contractor.

  • I take one of my teenage sons with me. I am fairly small and disabled (leg injury) so fending off attackers/crazy people would be difficult. The TOS does not prohibit ride-alongs and there is strength in numbers.
