Work from your home
Food Courier (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYMarch 19, 2019
As a delivery person working for Door Dash you have the privilege of being out in the fresh air all day long. Tips can be acquired upon completing a delivery and leave an impressionable impact with the customer. Speaking to management is relatively easy, by going to the help button in your Dasher app you will be able to access the HR department at anytime, including during deliveries. This is a self motivated environment which can be great for any person that had rough times working in teams. A typical day's work will be you going to a restaurant and picking up an order to be delivered, then bringing it the customer.

Good if you want to have a flexible schedule and work on your own time.
Payment has lowered the past year.
Good if you just need to supplement your other income.

DoorDash is a great company to work for in between jobs or in sync with your current employment. Due to the freedom offered by the company and the position its self.

Not a very good job with low pay.
Food Courier (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLJune 22, 2018
The job is not fun. The application you have to use barely works, and most of the time there is an issue with the order or the restaurant, or something else.

COURIER (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZMay 18, 2018
It is an excellent job, you could create your own schedule to work.
You can do some deliveries whenever you'd like.In some cases and a designated times of per day, they increase the payments as 'peak pay' which means you are paid more than offered.

This bike delivery company pays well, and has flexible hours. Perfect if you need the exercise. And extra income as a weekend or after shift side job.

Run
Food Courier (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMay 24, 2017
This job is a good start if you want to get the feel before joining people delivery like Lyft/Uber, but omg run as soon as you can. You are customer service, driver, and it can screw you to the point where you only make $2.50 for one hour. Not worth it unless the only reason you can't drive for Lyft/Uber is you are under 21.

A disorganized GrubHub
Courier (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILMay 9, 2017
Short and sweet review:

Pros: work anytime, always hours available, easy to use app

Cons: not many orders, long delivery distances, low pay, small orders, terrible support, and the App crashes/doesn't work properly OFTEN!

Notes: Good part-time job, good for easy cash but more money can be made by working for competitors
Pros
Work anytime
Cons
Low pay, App crashes often

Flexible, but dispatch doesn't speak English as first language
Bike Courier (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WAMarch 1, 2017
This job is very flexible, and doordash is accommodating in general of different work schedules. The pay is very low though, and sometimes they dispatch me orders that are very far outside my delivery zone.

Inconsistent App
Food courier (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXDecember 2, 2016
The app glitched significantly day 2. Tech support took 20 minutes to even acknowledge my issue, erstwhile the food sat.... the glitch was never resolved and i wasn't even able to deliver the food.

Not very impressed...

Flexible Schedule, decent pay for what you are doing
Courier (Current Employee) –  Southern CaliforniaAugust 3, 2016
The flexibility of setting your own schedule is great. The pay is not bad for what you have to do. Tips are generally pretty good in the orange county areas.

Nice to create your own schedule and work when you want, flexible.
FOOD COURIER (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXJune 25, 2016
Working for Door Dash has its ups and downs, in the Houston area pay isn't that steady, I've often sat for hours without getting an order which ends up being very demotivating and since your don't get paid hourly it can be a waste of time. You get paid $5 for every delivery plus 100% of whatever the customer tips you. So usually working during lunch hours (11:00am - 12:00pm) where a customer would typically order a small meal just for themselves you would probably get $6 to $7. If you work say a Saturday night where people are ordering dinner for the family you can easily get $9 or more because the customer has to tip a minimum of 10% of what the cost of the meal was, but sometimes customers get out of tipping by saying they will pay cash on the app on their phone and not give you anything at the door, so you just make only $5 :( You can average about 2 deliveries in an hour (sometimes 3 if they are close together) so if its busy you can make around $16 to $18 an hour or more but then it could be dead the next hour and only make $6, its not a steady or flat pay rate, it varies. The most frustrating part about the job is customers that live in apartments or town homes that give you absolutely no instructions on how to get into there complex or easy directions to there apt #. The app purposely has a special notes section for gate codes, apt # or any other information to make it easier on the driver for a quicker delivery, but you'd be surprised how many people don't even give you the gate code to get in let alone their own apt #. You do have the option to call the customer to  more... get that info but most often they don't answer so you'll have to wait for someone entering the complex and follow them in to get through the gate. All this takes unnecessary time that could have went to getting them there food a lot quicker, or you starting on another delivery, I cant tell you how much time I've wasted walking around a complex looking for an apt because the customer wouldn't answer their phone. Besides that, if your getting deliveries to houses then its very quick and easy money, its not a bad job if you don't mind driving a lot. My biggest complain would just be sitting around waiting for an order, other than that is a good job. The most I made in 1 hour was $50.  less
Pros
Make your own hours, working by yourself.
Cons
Slow = Low pay, Delivering to apts
