A school that does not believe in discipline
Teacher (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAAugust 12, 2018
Discipline is out the window at this school. Management is very unorganized and do not know how to communicate any important information to the teachers. The students run the school. The teachers work very hard to do their job however they are not supported with classroom management. Many times teachers are disrespected by the students with no consequences.

Counselor (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJanuary 16, 2018
A typical day would be 7:45 - 4:30. We work and extra 1.5 hours per day and an extra 2 weeks per school year. The compensation appears to be higher than the public schools but if it is broken down into hourly pay, it is actually less. The compensation package also does not include the State Health Benefits plan so if you retire from Drew, you will not have health insurance and will need to find your own plan.
The staff and administration are friendly and supportive and it is a comfortable workplace however the ability to advance is not available to everyone.
Pros
Supportive and great resources
Cons
Compensation and benefits

a day at Drew Charter
Lead an academic class of 25 students (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GASeptember 28, 2017
A typical day at Drew Charter is fun. My time at Drew Charter I learned that young kids respect someone that has a positive mindset. The management at Drew Charter is awesome. The workplace culture at Drew Charter is diversity with all different race. The hardest part at Drew Charter is getting the kids to be consistent after being told something. The most enjoyable part at Drew is seeing the kids run up to you when they see me.
Pros
given the opportunity to be an impact to kids
Cons
not having enough time to spend with the students.

Drew charter after school program
After School Teacher (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GANovember 8, 2016
Drew Charter seems to provide a healthy educational environment that is conducive for learning. The work days are fun and exciting. The students are so intelligent and they make it fun to teach. Yet the children can also be a challenge when they have been in a learning environment for hours and become agitated. Creating interesting activities seems to be the best remedy for that. The children I have a pleasure of working with are also the great reward of this job. To be in a position to positively influence a child for life is a magical gift!
Pros
making children smile
Cons
working with a few disruptive children

My position provided a large degree of freedom to develop new curriculum activities. The faculty was very open and cooperative to new ideas. Overall the atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable.
