If the company is not going to require experience for new hires they need to develop a real training program. A few hours on one project with another rep just doesn't prepare a new hire for all the different things we do. The initial online training is mostly focused on using the reporting app. but new hires are at a loss of what to do when they actually get in a store. A new hire should work on maybe 4 or 5 different projects with another rep before being put on their own. Unfortunatly we are usually so short of help they are hiring "warm bodies" and turning them loose with almost no training creating a revolving door in some areas.
