Teller Associate in Wheaton, IL
on April 24, 2021
I have loved working at DuPage Credit Union! After leaving a toxic work environment, I now love my management team and coworkers here. The work environment is always positive and everyone is super helpful and willing to answer questions while you are learning the position. Daily work is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and requires accuracy while working on transactions with members. The drive-thru can be sometimes overwhelming if busy and financial questions can be stressful to deal with, but overall this is a great place to work especially for an entry level position! They also prefer promoting within so a great place to move up and grow in the company!

Management/coworkers is always the deciding factor of whether or not I like working somewhere. I had already been a teller but I had to move to another state so I was looking for a similar position. I'm so glad I found this one. I love my coworkers and managers. We strive to be the best we can be while also being a chill work environment. We do have sales goals but it's not the end of the world if we don't meet them, we just have a conversation about what we can do better. You always get two days off a week(Sunday and then another day). You always work around 40 hours a week. The downfall of this job is when members get angry about something. I'm pretty sensitive so when members get mad I get overwhelmed. But my coworkers are always there to help me. My manager is really good about accommodating any day off or time off requests with adequate notice. It's not a super big credit union(there's 3 branches and the operations center) but they love to promote from within so there's a lot of growth opportunities.

Overall, I really enjoy working here. There are slower days as well as jam-packed days at this job but I am constantly learning something new, and I always feel comfortable enough to go to my coworkers and managers for help when I need it. I can genuinely say that I like everyone I work with and the environment here is typically very relaxed. There are a lot of opportunities for growth within the company and everyone on the team is very supportive of each other.

DCU takes care of it's employees and strives to make working there fun and meaningful. They like to promote from within and there are plenty of opportunities to advance your career.

If you love the people you work with then the job is fun! Had a great time working here even though the job was a little slow and boring but the environment made it a fun place to be!
