Fun Place to Work At and Grow
Team Member (Current Employee) –  Naperville, ILDecember 6, 2017
I've been working at DCU for a few years now. There's always opportunities for advancement, and you're never hindered if you'd like to apply for other positions within the company. Management really cares about learning opportunities and ensuring growth.

As it is a smaller company, it's easy to get to know most (if not all) of the team members and everyone is pretty pleasant. What makes this credit union stand out from other financial institutions is that although there are sales goals, you won't get fired if you don't meet them, nor will you be talked down to. They'll try to work with you to give you the best tools for success.

There's always going to be good days and bad days wherever you go, but for the most part, there are more good days than bad here. They also have different activities planned throughout the year that you can take part in and gives you an opportunity to socialize with other departments or branches that you might not get to see or talk to too often. Throughout the year, there's also trainings so you'll know more about the different products and services.

Team-Oriented, Growth-Focused, Inspiring
Team Member (Current Employee) –  Naperville, ILNovember 21, 2017
A team-oriented group that works hard, but has fun doing it. Organization is always looking to the future and giving individuals the opportunity to work on tasks/committees outside of their normal "wheelhouse."

With so many individuals who are so knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge, it's easy to be inspire to be/do my best.
Pros
Team culture, focus on work/life balance, super family friendly
Cons
Smaller, not-for profit. Compensation isn't always the highest, but worth the trade-off for the flexibility I enjoy.

Lack of promotion and poor managment

No growth opportunities and management is poor. HE was on the side of the managers when it came to issues within departments. Very old school mentality, no opportunity to grow.

Small but Might Workplace
Teller Associate (Current Employee) –  Downers Grove, ILNovember 7, 2015
Great Organization that puts both its members and Team Members at the core of everything they do. Everyone from the top down is easily accessible and open to talk to and they actively listen to feedback given by employees. They are on the smaller side of companies so they are a bit limited when it comes to the latest and greatest in terms of technology, but the great attitude surrounding the company makes up for it.
Pros
Helpful Co-workers
Cons
Limited Benefits, Long Shifts

Slow Moving, Low Paying Organization
Financial Services Representative (Current Employee) –  Downers Grove, ILMarch 25, 2014
Whhile I enjoyed my co-workers and the management was OK, there just wasn't any opportunity for advancement. It is a small credit union and has many employees that have been in their position for many years so opportunities don't arise often to move up. You don't make any commission, yet are expected to go the extra mile with your sales efforts all the time. The heath insurance benefits are good, but they don't pay well enough.
