DCPS, does not compensate their employees enough. The entire state of Florida is behind the times when it comes to teacher's salaries. I have been with DCPS for 18 years with a Master's degree, and I am still not past $50,000. The cost of living is getting higher in Jacksonville, and its hard to afford a basic apartment, you need like 3 part-time jobs ...
