Look at who your “competition” is. You do not find Fresh Market on the shelves of other stores. Quality of product, quantity of product, presentation of product, and adequate pricing of Earth Fare products. Step inside the box and look out.
It appears more focus may have to be on supervisors and managers. They are at the helm. Do they appreciate hard work and dedicated employees?
I was not impressed.

It appears that it may be hard to keep help. I was a shopper there and unimpressed.
Supervisors may need to step into the box to obtain an over look as to what is actually happening with in their department. Do not assume that all is said and done is correct. Step up to the plate and remember Fresh Market is your competition. “You cannot purchase Fresh Market brands in other stores like Earth Fare.” Appreciate and improve.

You have tried to expand too much too quickly. As such there's a real sense that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Employees have lost benefits to help facilitate this growth which is not the way you need to allocate funding for expansion. A few years ago there was a button that had been created for employees to wear. "Keep Earth Fare Weird". That's pretty good advice. The company has been around for a long time and it has been the unique employees and customers that nurtured and developed the store. Somewhere along the line you've forgotten that and have tried to absorb the identity of other companies and cater to a clientele who are not the heart and soul of your company. It's not the Dr. Oz viewer who will keep you in business but rather the subscriber to Mother Earth Magazine. Don't forget where you came from Earth Fare.

Close all the Indiana stores. The Home Office has forgotten about the state entirely. The stores are too expensive and lacking in customers. What used to be a great concept is just a failed experiment. If you're thinking of applying, don't. There are better opportunities elsewhere.

Invest in training your Team Members. Perhaps its time to stop opening new stores and focus on the ones that need fixed and properly staffed. If not, then sell the company to someone who cares, or can run it properly.

Get in your stores. Home office is clueless about what is going on in store and what uphill battles we face on a daily basis.
