Eaton
Electrician Assembler (Current Employee) –  Sumter, SCApril 17, 2019
They could pay a lot more and treat there employers alot better than what they do. They want you to work alot of overtime but dont want to pay the people what their worth. You kick out so much work to receive little appreciation.

In my experience Eaton was a great place to work. They offered many opportunities for overtime and career advancement. Eaton has great benefits to include a pension.

Good location to work. Fairly laid back environment. Benefits are very competitive. Hardest part of the job is shifting priorities due to lack of resources.

If you are ready to work 70+ hours a week on a regular basis then you will love this place.... but if you want a work/ life balance, RUN
Technician (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMarch 19, 2019
Overall decent place to work I learned a lot in my tenure here, that I plan to use in the future to further advance in my career. Really the only negative is the constant pressure to work extended hours
Pros
Free lunches, good benefits, Plenty OT
Cons
Long Long hours, but for some this is a good thing.... pay is not great, exchange low pay for lots of OT

Eaton Plant
Senior Plant Accountant (Former Employee) –  Jackson, MIMarch 19, 2019
Do your homework before working at an Eaton manufacturing facility. Any corporate jobs are probably great as are most of the plant locations. Just understand that the facilities have their own way of doing things.

What’s good for one isn’t good for all
Cell Operator / Runner (Former Employee) –  Van Wert, OHMarch 18, 2019
To much high school games goes on there. It seems to be ok for men to talk to women any kind of way and managers look over that. Some people can go in early and work different hours others aren’t allowed. What’s good for one should be good for all but not at this place. They make fun of hourly people because all summer long we are in there working and management gets weekends off they told us because they have college degrees.
Cons
The benefits are a joke and so is the pay

Not a bad place to work
Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) –  Beaver, PAMarch 18, 2019
Low morale, more talk than work, stressful work environment. Loved the actual work there but always had defects in components and tester downtime which made the job frustrating. Older co-workers complained more than they worked.
Pros
decent pay
Cons
5 days vacation until 5 years service-no sick days

Eaton is a great place to work!
OEM Account Manager - Caterpillar (Former Employee) –  Joliet, ILMarch 18, 2019
If you google search Eaton you will see it's a rather large company, but depending on the manager who hires you in, they have a solid leadership base who provides you with plenty of direction and opportunity for training and advancement. I would highly recommend working for this company and if you become unhappy, talk to someone about making a move within. This is a company I pictured myself to be at forever, it's just unfortunate in 2015 they had to make tough decisions to reduce numbers and reorganize but that is part of the business.
Pros
many great benefits, great management, plenty of room for growth and advancement
Cons
it's big and the stakeholders need to be happy, there can be some red tape when trying to get things done

Assembler (Current Employee) –  Lincoln, ilMarch 12, 2019
They pay good and have decent benefits, but they do not care about the well being of employees and they do not have a good system for sick employees. There is also a lot of drama in the work place.

Company has a good benefits package but does not care about home/work blanace.
GROUP LEADER (Current Employee) –  Roxboro, NCMarch 10, 2019
Company works most departments continuously 7 days a week with 0 regard for home life. Set unrealistic goals for employees to reach by including goals that are not part of the employees production job. Example requiring employees to be part of team in the community.
Pros
Good benefits package
Cons
0 regard for employee home life.

Eaton Filtration - Toxic and Unethical Conduct
Field Service Engineer (Former Employee) –  New JerseyMarch 6, 2019
This summary does not reflect on the entirety of Eaton or the other Eaton divisions. This review is strictly in regards to Eaton Filtration, a division of Eaton Hydraulics.

Eaton Filtration propagates a toxic, unethical and ineffective work culture directly from its upper management team. The political play among the management team results in contradicting work polices and strong arm tactics being used against those employees who push back.

The company is constantly struggling internally on simple processes such as Order Processing, Parts Ordering, and Technical Support.
Local, low level management is neutered by the ever changing policies, poor decision making and micro-managing of the upper management team.

Again, I stress this review is only a reflection of Eaton Filtration, not of the other functions of the Eaton Corporation.
Pros
Fair work/life balance. Small business group. Fair benefits.
Cons
Toxic environment and work ethics.

Companies need to resist goverment kick-backs for hiring some ex-military.
Switchboard Technician (Former Employee) –  Sumter, SCMarch 4, 2019
My last boss is an ex-naval officer jerk. Companies such as Eaton receive goverment kick-backs for hiring ex-military. My only concern, is their "command and demand" attitude that results in the resentful poor treatment of employees and management letting it happen.
Pros
Good pay and benefits
Cons
Ignorant ex-naval officers that are not suited to supervise technical employees.
