Great People, don't have your back though
Coding Specialist (Former Employee) - New Jersey - August 13, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe coding world is getting more demanding all the time with the CPH requirements continuing to increase. Never did I expect to come across a client that would repeatedly push the line of ethics and expect me to get on board with their line of thinking. When I wouldn't do this, the client became enraged and wanted me gone. My employers did not have my back any longer, and I no longer had confidence that they ever would if I faced any other unethical clients. I was left with no option but to resign immediately. As someone who takes pride in their work and takes their oath seriously, I suggest anyone considering this company to be careful. If questionable ethics don't bother you the people and the pay are great. Benefits are expensive and are so-so

Terrible
Medical Coder (Former Employee) - Remote - September 10, 2023
Management is terrible. Nobody knows what is going on. Bait and switch with assignments. Was supposed to start on 11/15, but supervisor never contacted me. Was told the NEXT day that the job was no longer available. Waited another week before I got an assignment

Not bad when there was work
Coding Specialist (Former Employee) - Remote - May 30, 2023
Overall the experience was not bad but not good. Broken promises of work availability. Weeks will go by without any work. Not for me. Hopefully they can change some management and turn the corner.
Pros
Easy accounts
Cons
Lack of work. Little communication

What is the best part of working at the company? Pay and benefits. Some leadership is pretty awesome, clients are great What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Wayyyyyy overworked, super high turnover rate, micromanaging from some leadership What is the work environment and culture like at the company? On the surface, the culture looks great. Under the surface, there's a ton of pressure to perform while you're moved from project to project and then you get in trouble because your other work isn't finished. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Phone calls with the boss and glued to production the rest of the time

STRESSFUL- Lack of support and job security
Remote Medical Coder (Current Employee) - Remote - September 25, 2022
My time at the company was extremely stressful. There is little training and I was put in a sink or swim environment on day 1 of employment. There is lack or communication and lack of team collaboration. Workplace culture is non-existent. I had a sense of being on the chopping block all the time I was there due to lack of communication, support, and appreciation. When I tried to bring concerns regarding an area I was struggling in to my supervisor, I was just told to code twice the amount. I often times felt like I was on an island all alone.

Great company
Inpatient Coder (Current Employee) - Remote - August 23, 2022
Great company for coders, coding contractors, auditors. Great pay, great management, work from home. CEU opportunities. Have enjoyed working for this company.

Lack of communication is a common theme.
Medical Coder (Former Employee) - Remote - February 5, 2022
Hour flexibility is misleading. If you’re looking for a contract, turn elsewhere. You’ll be treated as an employee but without the benefits and use your own equipment, of course. It’s a stretch to hear back from management if you have questions. Pay is okay but not great.
Pros
Semi flexibility with hours and remote work
Cons
Lack of communication, pay, not ideal contract labor

Jobs at eCatalyst Healthcare Solutions
Nope, nope, nope.
Medical Coder (Former Employee) - remote - January 30, 2022
ZERO communication from management. No assignment for next job or even an inkling of when it might happen. Put through the ringer trying to obtain access and then job contract was pulled. Hired for another job and then heard NOTHING....going on 2 weeks now. Chew you up and spit you out. Was totally excited about his company and feel like I have been lied to and mislead in every way possible. This is happening to multiple people, and I believe that this awful treatment is indicative of the way they treat all their employees. I just want a job that I can go to everyday and do a good job, management team I can get help from if needed. Honesty. Integrity. Stability. This company offers none of this. I have never left a negative review of anything in my life, but feel I must warn others to think about his company before applying.
Pros
great pay
Cons

eCatalyst presents an exciting but fake opportunity!
Remote Medical Coder (Former Employee) - Texas - January 12, 2022
They want you to crank out the charts as fast as you can to boost their profitability while paying you less than the market average. Oh, and throw on metrics to track your EVERY move. Want a lunch break? Too bad, you'll get dinged if you are away from your computer. Be ready to bring your own computer, they'll expect you to!
Pros
Remote work
Cons
Everything else! Management, ownership, benefits (they suck), and the systems.

I've never worked for an organization that takes quality medical coding so seriously. I know their expectations and feel supported when I have questions about coding. They give me the resources to do my job and help me continually grow. I highly recommend eCatalyst to anyone looking into a remote medical coding job.
Pros
Remote work, Good Leaders, Great Pay
