Great concept poorly executed

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Their whole business model is build around no pressure haggle free sales but then they are constantly pressuring customers into buying extended service contracts because it’s the only way they actually make money on the cars. If you are selling a car but no added protection you won’t make any money.

Lead you in with lies.

Their first 2 weeks of training are all about how they are different from a normal car company. After that you see the slime. Selling salt damaged used cars at seemingly cheap prices then hitting the customers on the back end who are not happy and too deep in the process before they realize what's going on.

Pros

They will buy any piece of junk vehicle to sell off to someone else, good to get rid of clunkers to.

Cons

Selling cars with extra steps veiled in 'convenience'.

This company is absolutely lost, fake above store management, fake goals

Benefits are terrible. No paid holidays. If a major holiday falls on a Thursday, that's your day off for the week. So you take off the holiday and then everyone works Saturday. THAT'S NOT A HOLIDAY!A typical day at work consists of hitting the door with your hair on fire and being on the run until its time to go home. No plan for anything, just total chaos trying to reach unattainable goals.Above store management is mostly clueless. Spends all day buried in spreadsheets and sending emails. The company constantly talks about culture but they really have no idea what that is.The hardest part of the job is coming in everyday. There are some really great people working there, and they don't deserve to get treated this way.The most enjoyable part of the job is the co-workers. Most everyone seems to enjoy each others company.

Pros

There are a few perks, lunch on saturday, sno cone truck and food trucks occasionally

Cons

Total garbage operation

It’s definitely a great place to start in the car business.

Very well structured process. If you want to start in the car business this is the place to do so. Don’t feed off of the hype growth within, favoritism is a thing here. Management is not always on the same page this is very much a different way of buying cars but a traditional style from a salesman’s perspective if you work hard the money will come Numbers matter so don’t think they don’t at the end of the day you need to pay yourself and carry your weight. Company culture is outstanding just not in this market

Pros

Saturday free lunch, monthly kickoffs, pay is good

Cons

Management not on the same page. Favoritism, lack of grow within the store you work at

Avoid at all cost-

This has truly been the worst job I have ever had. Management has ZERO respect for their employees. No work/life balance at all, you will be ridiculed and harassed if you try to take time off. Leaving on time? Good luck with that, you are guilted into excessive overtime. Management has favorites and if you’re not one of them they will push you out of the door on purpose by not giving you a fair opportunity. The pay? The pay is decent if it you’re good at selling cars. Overall if you respect yourself and your time I would advise you to RUN from this place.

Pros

Pay can be decent

Cons

Awful management and no work/life balance

They advertise a great place to work, but it's all a facade.

If you like being bamboozled into thinking you're working for a new age company, look no further. EchoPark says that it's different than the other dealerships, which is true, they're somehow worse. They brag about "great" benefits (a whole 8 days a year with only like two holidays off, and expensive insurance options) and promise decent hours and a work life balance. However, the second you try to take time off or leave when you're scheduled to, you'll be ridiculed and shamed.

Pros

Every once in a while they'll buy lunch or bring in an ice cream truck.

Cons

Expensive benefits, no work life balance, some blatant discrimination that no one will do anything about.

It is very easy work but the pay is terrible for techs

I make less than most of the techs there and I have more experience then some. Except to be on day shift and to work every other Saturday. I’m honestly not expecting a raise next month when I’m up for one even with my attendance being good and hitting my production goals. Management told me I needed to pick my production up when I was out of work due to having foot surgery and being on medical leave. If I am told I am not getting a raise I will be leaving. They do try to make you happy but at the end of the day it’s who you know and who is willing to “kiss behind” to get to the top and even then it’s not the top. Every place has its pros and cons but honestly here it’s more cons than pros

Pros

Work is not hard Most if the people are great

Cons

Long hours management and shop size

The best the automotive industry has to offer.

Very rarely do you see ex-employees leave great reviews, but I will. I strongly believe in the business model and employees are treated well consistently.

Pros

free lunches, a 5 day work week, ongoing training, quality vehicles. You never feel like you're misleading your guests.

Cons

Very difficult to move into management if you are a female, unless you're willing to move to a different location.

Great work culture and good pay

Work culture is great, people tend to have great attitudes. Growth is encouraged and small success is recognized. Lots of opportunity to grow especial if you're a sales person. Technician work load is fairly light and pay is good for the type of work required. Hours can be a little long but you get every other weekend off

Pros

Growth opportunities, pay and work culture

Cons

long hours, little pto

Decent job if your new to automotive

Decent job if you new to the automotive industry and looking for a way in...But if your experienced, just know this place isnt like any other dealer and the way things are done usually make no sense at all. Everyone in management will tell you a different answer to a question or a different way of doing things. They try to push a family feeling environment but if you work in the recon department, then your just the black sheep of the family. The most frustrating thing in my opinion was just the pure lack of organization and not knowing what really needed to get done.

They lie just as much if not more than any other dealership.

They tell you while interviewing that you'll have a wildly different experience working there than at "traditional" dealerships. That you'll only work late occasionally, you don't have to pressure people. Etc. These are all flat out lies. You'll work late 60% of the days your scheduled. You'll pressure people way more than most no pressure dealerships in colorado. I can name 5 with lower pressure off the top of my head.On top of this they'll tell you to lie to customers and tell them your paid on salary when you really are mostly paid commission. Then once your in their favorite excuse is just that "its the auto industry"Theyre not different. Don't be fooled by the wolf in sheep's clothes. If anything they're honestly worse than so many of the "traditional" dealerships.

Pros

Goodish pay.

Cons

Excessive unpaid overtime, forced to lie, lied to constantly, no work life balance at all

Good training.

Good training programs that can help you in the Auto business in a long run. They have new and they're own unique way of selling their products which is working quite well.

Filled with Lies and favoritism

Recon department is treated like 2nd class citizens while sales department are constantly shown favoritism and appreciation. Management barely knows how to manage , let’s bad quality vehicles pass through phases in order to reach weekly goals. TIER BONUSES are only for those GRANDFATHERED IN ( Sales department) being that most of recon is new including managers in recon ....they push recon to hit numbers and goals so the tier is reached and they receive a bonus while recon gets 0 incentives to reach goals. Holiday pay is a joke by counting certain days as your day off and not a paid holiday. The list could go on but too much to list.

Pros

Pto flexibility

Cons

Favoritism

Selling warranties not cars

If you don’t know how to be a finance manager and sell products then you’re probably not gonna work well with this company. You do not sell cars you sell warrantees you sell Pirma plate and you sell gap insurance other than that that’s all you sell

Pros

Guaranteed pay

Cons

You have to sell warranties and make more than $25, 000 to make any more money than your base pay

Great work environment

Great place to work at. Management do help you out when needed which is a refreshing change from most other companies. The only thing that I see need improvement on is a more clear direction of advancement in the company.

Excellent compensation and job stability.

Very high level company. If hired and do well, the sky is the limit. Your true skills will show, and weaknesses. Open your mind and if this is really for you then you will grow. I’m very sorry to leave.

Pros

Nice facility, steady pay

Cons

If your management, then there are long hours.
