Command Center in Pittsburgh, PA

Came here with high expectations in advancements only to be highly disappointed. Very little movement. The company posts internal jobs and never follows through, almost as to be stringing eager employees looking for upward movement, along. Good group of guys/girls in the monitoring center. Director is also great, but is held back by upper management. Several guys (some doing way more than their job description) are still making the same salary as two years ago.

I came to the company with high expectations of a motivated group of individuals striving to achieve more since the company was in its infancy. I was so wrong. First, the shifts were so boring. You are not allowed to do anything except watch cameras. No phones, no other tabs to browse the internet, etc. There would be hours with hardly anything going on. Second, I learned next to nothing at this job besides that any time you tried to improve something or do something extra, a supervisor would tell you to stop because "its not what we do here". It was so annoying to see basic issues persist for months because people actively did not try to fix them. The management was horrible, out of touch, supervisors were in consistent with their expectations, and there was clearly favoritism. The culture was also abysmal, the entire night all we would here was other people complaining. The company would hold salaried positions over peoples heads to keep them from looking for other jobs just to turn around and offer it to someone else, eliminate the position, or if you wanted a day shift you would watch a new-hire go straight to day shift. The hardest part of the job was the boredom, it was mind numbing. Also, dont ever expect a raise. They will consistently bring on new sites to monitor and never offer any more of a raise. We had older agents with 3 years experience making $15/hr while new agents were being hired at $18/hr. The refused to give the old agents raises without a promotion. The only good part was finally getting 3 days off in a row for night shift so we could actually feel like we had time off.

Improving company with a lot of potential to grow within. Interesting job that takes investigative and communication skills. Great to be apart of a team that pushes you to be successful and doesn’t lack recognition when earned.

Edgeworth has it’a up and downs but overall a good place to work. Changed in management has significantly improved monitoring center. The people make the job. The company is still only a few years old and does having growing pains. But also allows everyone to have input to how the company grows making the job feel extra purposeful. Most agents start on night shift but move to day shift (if they choose to) within 6-12 months (but not always). Most the criminal activity happens over night making it an exciting shift. Voice downs capabilities give the ability to stop crime in real time which is rather exciting. I recommend working here, this place is the experience you make it. Many people including myself took hold of my career plan and moved up in the company multiple times.

This company is based off of all military and government background higher up and management who all know each other from past experiences and worked together in the past and cover up for each other. Their systems are always faulty and they try to blame it on someone and end up firing this person or asking them to resign, BUT THEN CERTAIN people miss big events that result in big issues get barely a slap on the wrist and a visit to their private home by the deputy director. Excuse me since when is it appropriate for your boss to come to your provate house and talk about an issue at work?!
