They have an incredible work environment and provide support all around. The only thing they lack is the training. There is no official training and you really have to fend for yourself in that respect

Senior Event Services Manager in San Antonio, TX

I worked for Edlen for quite some time- I loved this job for many years, so interesting and energizing to see such a wide variety of trades and work with different crews. Upper management really DID make you feel like family. A few years ago, they started cultivating a much more corporate dog-eat-dog environment. They began to put more value on those who knew how to shine the right boots rather than on performance and loyalty. When covid hit the entire industry was completely nil. To their credit, they did try to keep long-term employees on furlough. We were eventually laid off though and I was not considered for re-hire. I am so glad to have had the experience of working there which was wonderful for so long, but also relived that I didn't go back. The revolving door they have now should give them a clue as to when and why things went off the rails. Even during the time period when I was happy with the job, work/life balance was non-existent, and I was expected to answer emails AND forwarded phones on evenings, weekends, and at times even on vacation.

What is the best part of working at the company? I got the feeling that you are working with a team and they care for each other like family. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The most stressful part might be coordinating more than 7 events at one time. However, being organized and maintaining all details per event can help cause less stree.

Edlen operates under extremely old philosophies and there is a HUGE gap between hourly and management with respect to pay. The managers are basically unsupervised and do not treat their hourly employees well. If you don’t mind doing a job with very little training, working very hard while your manager comes in late and takes two-three hour lunches everyday to walk her dog then this is the right place for you.

Would not work at Fort Worth with current manager. Job is fun but management made it unbearable. Most days consists of follow ups, emails, precons, and meeting with electricians. Job itself would be ok at another location.
