I cant believe anyone left a postitive review
Buyer (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAMay 23, 2018
I worked for OFY/OFL and got rehired to EMS in the same position as EMS was created because of bad business practices. The states review of the company was the reason why EMS created. With that said, EMS was the start of the end, of a good work environment. Actually, the creation of EMS exposed a company that was all about company cars and the latest iPhone for its owners. Every bad review on here, is on point and I strongly feel that current employee reviews where made to satisfy current management.

Supportive and Collaborative Work Environment
Events & Communications Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJanuary 30, 2018
EMS has been an amazing company to work for. I have been here for almost 6 years. The support offered to team members is incredible and the executives and those in leadership are extremely collaborative. They encourage a "family first" environment that makes it easy to find the balance between work and family. It is a genuine pleasure to come to work every day. The company offers competitive salaries and great benefits. The relationships I have established at this company will last a lifetime.

Software support technician (Former Employee) –  Wilmington, NCJanuary 24, 2018
In my time at Education Management Systems, I loved my job. I was very disappointed when I was laid off. It was a friendly atmosphere and I travelled a lot.

Poor Management
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CADecember 2, 2017
You don't work for education company, you work for everything to make the family rich - they created different types of sub-company to take money from the school/government. They do not want to give you a rise and try all method to lowball you. I can't be more than happy to leave this company

It's just another corporation
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CANovember 28, 2017
The company is part of an umbrella of a corporation owned by a family. They say you're there for the students but you're there to make the owner's filthy rich. When you do get your raise, they low ball you and add more responsibilities. It's a good job but not a career. Always have a plan B when working there. Good luck

EMS compensation/bonuses are inconsistent. Management needs improvement.

Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJuly 6, 2017
You serve a greedy family. People are taken for granted with a show of care but no real core values that say people matter. Crooked policies and corners always being cut.

There is no job security
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJune 27, 2017
It is unfortunate, EMS has some great qualities, however, they are much overshadowed by the lack of consistency and loyalty to their employees. EMS cannot be trusted as they hire and fire. It seems favoritism and hierarchy play a big role but the time spent there was great. They have good intentions yet dwindle their money away on unnecessary things. There is a constant presence of secrecy and eggshell-walking due to the high turnover rate.

Don't Bother
Senior Media Analyst (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXJune 9, 2017
A small company built around a cult of personality. No real leadership exists within the company and no real chances for growth. The company has had over a 100% turnover rate in the last year.

Buyer II (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles County, CAJune 6, 2017
Did not value strong employees. Often felt segregated from other parts of the company. No annual raises, mentality that keeping your job is reward enough.

Good place to learn and once you feel like you're not learning get the heck out. Don't stick around and hope/wish things will change. They don't. Management puts you in a box and gives you false hopes.

Ok job but not great stability. There are constant layoffs and your department/job position could change at any moment.
