PROGRAM SPECIALIST, Austin, TX - January 26, 2018
I performed primarily Accounting tasks for a specialized education department at a Regional Education Center. Although I had an Education Degree and years of banking experience, the job functions were complicated and the person who performed the job before me had moved to another department and was not available to help train me. The job was stressful because there were constant deadlines and tasks that were not documented so I was constantly in a catch-up and learn mode. The department had been reorganized with different goals, approaches, personnel, supervisors, and managers so everyone had to focus on their new responsibilities which didn't allow much of a team-building or supportive environment. There were some knowledgeable, helpful employees in other areas of the company that provided needed support and help to me when and if they had the time. I understood the critical need of the Support Center and wanted to become a stress-free, knowledgeable, and contributing employee. The environment, management style, and increased health concerns of my husband resulted in my leaving the job much earlier than anticipated when I accepted the job.
