Grade 3 Maintenance Worker (Current Employee) –  Fort Dodge, IAJuly 16, 2019
Very poor leadership and workforce. Most people spend the best of their time trying to get out of work or lying about what they did or did do. Lots of engineers that know everything, but know nothing. It's always 1 step forward and 10 back. The regress instead of progress.

Data Assistant (Current Employee) –  Greenfield, INMay 31, 2019
This is a great culture to be apart of and couldn't ask for a better place to work. Everyone is made to feel apart of the company and that their work matters, it truly does.

Business model works, but not for the area
Contract Worker (Former Employee) –  Winslow, MEAugust 7, 2018
When Elanco absorbed this facility, everyone there should have been let go, or at the very least placed back on probation. There is in fighting, constant complaint with no solution, building is in disrepair (which should have been fixed day one, considering it needs to be a sterile facility). No leadership within teams, teams don't communicate, and there isn't enough support staff for the managers to actually be involved in their labs. They are stuck doing 40-60 hours of paperwork a week, of course they aren't going to have time to actually supervise.

Major management changes are needed, and many of the original staff needs to be removed, there is no retraining the habits they have ingrained.

Corruption in the Human Racecourses is very high and they underhand employees that are in lower positions. The company tells people they act with respect and integrity but it is a display for the public and does not flow to employees

Wear your protective gear....
Technician (Former Employee) –  Winslow, MEJuly 15, 2018
You will find the need for kevlar vest and other body protection to protect you from the constant cut-throat and backstabbing culture that is very prevalent throughout the site.
If you get through that on a daily basis, the pay and benefits are nice....!
Pros
pay, benefits, oppotunities
Cons
cut-throat culture, poor work/home life balance, Parent co. HR team, poor management

It used to be a great place to work, the culture has changed the past 5 years with all the new acquisitions. I am hoping they turn this ship around and develop a strong strategy to recover.

Company with a great mission but lacks execution
Consultant Engineer (Current Employee) –  Augusta, GAMarch 15, 2018
Elanco is an animal health company that is a part of Eli Lilly, which is a human health and pharmaceutical company.

Positive comments:
I support Elanco's vision to provide products and technology to support food production. Overall benefits and compensation are good (i.e. pay is competitive, medical insurance is great, paid time off is OK, year end holiday is a great benefit, etc.).

Negative comments:
Elanco has grown too quickly. There is decent effort to develop leaders through training. However, the daily culture conflicts with the training and promotes/rewards poor leadership behavior. The organization is siloed (i.e. divided into functions instead of teams). Leadership focuses on advancement of the function vs. the overall good of the team.

Eli Lilly/Elanco are based in Indianapolis and 90% of employees are in Indiana. However, the manufacturing site for Posilac (a sterile injectable) is in Augusta, GA. The Augusta manufacturing site was acquired from Monsanto in 2008. Integration of the Augusta site has been a long and treacherous road. Not only does the physical distance make it difficult to integrate employees, create networks, etc. But, the knowledge and experiences of the Augusta employees are not valued. In a short period of time all leadership positions were taken over by Lilly managers. Leaders look out for themselves. There is little to no effort placed on employee development or career advancement of professionals in Augusta. The Augusta site is used as a management training ground for Lilly leaders to return to Indianapolis.

Over the ten years since Eli Lilly/Elanco took over Posilac manufacturing, the company has proceeded to run the business into the ground. The manufacturing site is for sale and Posilac production has ended.

The most enjoyable part of my job has been the people I work with and the relationships I have developed with my co-workers. The Augusta site has always felt like a family (even after Elanco took over).

The hardest part of my job is watching people in leadership positions not work together and cause the organization to be in chaos.

Really enjoyed my time there. Actually passed up on other jobs that were better paying to keep this one. Fair environment. Not as dangerous as some of the other chemical plants I worked.

Summary of Elanco
Associate Quality Consultant (Current Employee) –  Greenfield, INFebruary 7, 2018
In dealing with companies that are in the middle of a merger or IOP the environment becomes very tense. There are a lot of unknowns and this spikes anxiety, along with the stability of your future. I do enjoy working with the contract manufactures and building sound complaint manufacturing sites for animal health.

MICROBIOLOGY TECHNICIAN II FTE (Current Employee) –  Augusta, GAApril 13, 2017
Elanco provides good culture with a diverse population. Everyone you work with will become your family, because you live there now. Prepare to be over worked if you are a technician and have fingers pointed at you when something goes wrong. This is due to the poor management at the company. However, you can move up if you plan to move to corporate Indianapolis.
Pros
Healthcare, 401k, 7 days off for shift worker, and pay
Cons

Commercial Services Lead (Former Employee) –  Augusta, GAMarch 3, 2017
Working at Elanco offered me so many positive opportunities of growth. I became the "voice of the business" as the commercial services lead and SHARPS program manager responsible for the reverse logistics and disposal of bio-hazardous medical waste for 3K national customers. I earned a Lean Six Sigma Innovation Award for project savings, recognized for Product Lauch Leadership and Implementation of Safety Improvements by being a CI Champion. I gained experience in SAP, forecasting, budgeting, procurement, exporting, logistics, inventory control and materials management.

FDE employees don't know if they have a future or not. Most of thre people that are promoted are the ones that do not deserve it. seems like you must be anything other that white to make supervisor.
