Line Service Technician in Rockford, IL
on May 3, 2018
Very outdated equipment. That leads to many maintenance issues with ground equipment that are preventable. Business was sold to Volo Aviation and is scheduled to be remodeled with new(er) ground equipment. Great relationships with line service, customer service, aircraft maintenance and tenants are to be made. Good working relationships are a must in any job. The pay for line service is okay and the low cost of living makes up for what it could or should be. Great potential for students and maintainers with prior experience to start or continue a career at Emery aviation maintenance. Rock Valley College Aviation School is on the airfield offering degrees for aircraft maintenance. Great company to start with and continue as a career.
Ramp Supervisor in Rockford, IL

Equipment in horrible condition. Expected to perform under less than favorable conditions. Constantly being pressured by upper management due to them monitoring cameras every five minutes. Many OSHA hazards on a daily basis. Stressful work environment due to extremely low morale.

What is the best part of working at the company? You get to work with planes. There are no professional up sidesWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? The management, it unqualified so if you complain long enough you’ll be promoted. Managers play favorites and don’t make everyone work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Like middle school, everyone talks about everyone then they try to be an authority figure when but they’re lazy and disrespectful .What is a typical day like for you at the company? If we have a flight, sitting for an hour or two, staying freight, wok the plane, do grunt work or go home

Underpaied and overworked. Management sucks, training horrible. There is more Temps working there then actual employees. To much mandatory overtime and can't take time off

I enjoy meeting the new people assisting with the flights. Great group of people to work with. Not a stressful job. Getting work done when asked and getting the planes off on time is satisfying
