Stressful
Surveillance Operator (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYJune 23, 2019
The job is actually pretty cool. But it's still stressful. If you're working the first shift you'll Love it, the most friendly and welcoming group of people. Unfortunately they're only hiring for 3rs shift and there's a reason they can't keep that position filled. 3rd shift supervisors need therapy!! They will be the reason you quit. They're just in a position of power. Basically they can be rude and nasty because they can't be replaced and they know it. You've been warned. Unfortunately everyone else is aware of it but it isn't their shift so luckily isn't their problem. I'll work at another casino where they aren't working at!! Again you've been warned.
Pros
First shift staff, second shift staff and 3rd shift staff
Cons
3rd shift supervisors

former employee (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYJanuary 9, 2019
could not function without asking for approval every single time. employees not treated the best. Not sure if the admin building is still in the same location, but it used to be behind the stables. Awful stench during the summer.

Cocktail Waitress / Hostess (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYApril 5, 2018
It's a face pace place. Full of so so many rules. Cameras on you every second and hundreds of people watching you at all time. It's a place you will want to work at for a long time. Advice apply to a small position just to get in then switch.
Pros
Nice place good benefits
Cons
Under heavy watch

Kitchen Utility Worker (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYJanuary 31, 2018
Too many good people get thrown under the bus while lackluster folks do as they please. There is favoritism, nepotism and lack of proper management when it comes to certain people. Most of the people that were in my position felt like slaves.
Pros
Decent pay
Cons
Too many to mention

Terrible
Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYNovember 6, 2017
If you like to be miserable with little to no advancement (unless you are in the circle of favorites) then this is the job you will want. Your day consists of dealing with unruly customers and when it comes time to get a lunch break you then have to deal with co-workers who are even more disrespectful. Management does not have your back in any situation either because they dont care or because they are to busy hiding. Also for what you put up with you are very underpaid. Do yourself a huge favor and apply somewhere else.

Poor Management/Policy Following
Cage Cashier (Former Employee) –  Yonkers, NYOctober 5, 2017
If you would like to get a job here, the one thing you need to know is that the first year, you do not receive any sick or vacation days. So what happens is if you get sick or have an emergency, etc, you call out, you're done. At the same time, they play favorites in the workplace. This is unprofessional and unstable. Overall, the work condiftions are not worth it. The pay was decent and the hours were good, but in my experience I was told I'd work a certain schedule and got switched around within the same month.
Pros
Decent pay, set/consistent hours
Cons
Bad absence policies, favoritism

great first time job
VGM Attendant (Current Employee) –  Yonkers, NYAugust 20, 2017
Great first time because it will teach you great customer service skills. On the other hand the job isn't for everyone can be high stress at times. Sometimes you will have to explain certain things to a guest and they might not understand so they can be very hostile and rude/disrespectful toward you because your dealing with someones money and the guest thinks they are being scammed out of there money but the real reason is becasue they have made a mistake when playing the lottery machine. But if you can learn to put all that to the side the job can be a career. It offers (401k with match) healthcare, dental, eyecare.
Pros
tips
Cons
dealing with rude and unhappy disrepectful guests
