Restorative Nursing Assistant/ Certified Nursing Assistant in Bellingham, WA
on May 26, 2022
The facility is same as any other SNF. It has over 100% turnover for nurses and aides causing everyone to work over time and burn out, thus leading to quitting and never being fully staffed. Management changed four times while I was working there and they were never able to maintain adequate staff. The residents and most of the people working the floors were great though. I made several life long friends trauma bonding together on the floor.

Love working here at Buena Vista in Colville. Most of the nurses help on the floor and welcome questions. The residents are used to students so most are very patient. Other staff cross-train and help when able. In my experience a good team effort but be prepared to work more than scheduled. A plus if you’re interested in overtime, but pushes you to Burn Out quick. Many staff members call in equivalent or more than the amount they work. Decent pay, but keep an eye on it - they take a while to put raises into place and often miss bonuses that were promised.

Dietary group of workers, work hard but we're a tight team. Often worked off the clock to get work done on time. Pay at the beginning was minimum wage. Special diets for residents. High census. Equipment was often broken or supplied by staff. Coworkers were great.

I enjoyed my job and my coworkers for the most part were awesome, The management however. does not want to deal with problems that need to be addressed . My manager talked down to me and shut me down whenever I had an issue or needed help. I had a family emergency in which i needed to leave early for a few days and was basically told that they couldn't accommodate my schedule. I guess it was easier to cover my while shift than an hour of my shift. I think the company worries more about making a big profit than they do about the residents and staff. On the plus side the kitchen manager was always willing to pitch in when there was not enough help. It might not happen as often though if they treated people decent to begin with.

There is always more to learn, and we take that seriously. The team works well together and individually. There is a positive work culture as there is focus on problem solving, personal/team academic growth, and maintaining a professional work environment. A fun place to work with a family oriented work environment. This is a great place to work and make a forever home with a great work family.
