Fast paced work environment with ability to learn about several instrumental techniques especially ICP and mercury analyzer, etc. Management is very open minded and provides micromanagement free environment.

Good starting job
Asbestos (Current Employee) –  NJJune 23, 2018
Good place to get a starting job out of college. Lots of overtime expected which helps balance out the lower pay. Although hard to balance personal life/social life with the amount of hours needed to work. Some branch labs are better to work at than others. I would suggest moving from branch to branch every couple of years to grow professionally. Lots of internal growth opportunities if willing to move and in good standing with the company.
Pros
Good vacation package for fresh out of college workers (1-3 years out of school)
Cons
Excessive overtime expected in some locations, with limited months to use vacation time, and sometimes work load can be overwhelming/stressful

Productive work place with plenty to do everyday
Intern Chemistry assistant (Former Employee) –  Cinnaminson, NJJune 13, 2018
The day starts with you getting into lab and right to work. Your supervisor will tell you what needs to be done for the day and you get started doing it. I learned plenty about several analytical chemistry techniques I did not know about before. Management was easy to work with and out of the way most of the time.

It was fine.
Mid-Atlantic Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Collingswood, NJ 08108June 13, 2018
The family run management style was sometimes a challenge to tolerate. One must have a steadfast personal focus to funtion here and be able to rise above any suspicion of bias treatment.

Not a good place to work
Laboratory Analyst (Current Employee) –  Cinnaminson, NJApril 19, 2018
Management is absolutely terrible. No communication, and they expect you to just know things. Not willing to train when you ask for more. Supervisors are the worst aspect. Passive aggressive environment.

Not secure job
Senior Analyst (Former Employee) –  New York, NYApril 18, 2018
too much work loaded. too many questions from other departments, too loose management. Managers are not managing. No job secure and anytime they can let you go no matter you work 2 decades.
Pros
If you have low pay, no stress at work
Cons
Management is too loose

Overview
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLApril 15, 2018
Great atmosphere with outstanding co workers. It's an environment that is very fast paced and demanding. Multi tasking is a must since the role of Administrative Assistant is relied upon by every department. That would have to be the most difficult part of the job. In the end it is very rewarding at days end.
Pros
Family Oriented
Cons
Cohesiveness

Great environment, fair wages and excellent flexibility
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  New JerseyMarch 31, 2018
I’ve been working at EMSL for just about six years. I love my job and the people I work with. The flexibility is awesome. Two optional holidays and birthday added to my 3 weeks vacation time. Management cares about their employees and are always working to improve. Hard work does not go unnoticed!
Pros
Flexibility, paid time off and nice work environment
Cons
Medical benefits could be better but this is difficult every where

Bad management
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLMarch 19, 2018
Management is a joke and tries to cover up things rather than evaluate and make ways to improve them. Not an open environment to be able to talk to superiors about issues. Low pay with high standards.

Nice Company
Chemistry Assistant- Wet Chemistry Lab (Current Employee) –  Cinnaminson, NJ 08077March 14, 2018
The employees are friendly and the pay is reasonable. Nice company to grow your career. You could tell they care for all their employees by the kind gestures. Every Mondays free coffee for the employees and there's always activities they put together to give the employees some free lunch and snacks. The company is very neat too

Laboratory Analyst (Current Employee) –  Cinnaminson, NJMarch 6, 2018
Stressful work environment. Manager and supervisor are aloof. Overtime is expected. Employee turnaround is very low. More focused on client and money than on the well being of the employee.

Microscopist (Former Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 20, 2018
Terrible place to work for. Low pay, no proper training, you basically train yourself. Management doesn't do much to create a better work environment. Some employees try to get away with cheating and falsifying information.

Miserable Atmosphere
Lab Technician (Current Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 5, 2018
Overworked and underpaid. No appreciation for extra effort to meet deadlines even if pressure is constant. The lunch room feels like a prison cafeteria in a medium closet. 24 hr lab with no paper cups, plates or any utensils, no milk or sugar and barely any coffee for the coffee machine. No reprimanding of employees when necessary. Some work harder than others because the others are lazy but this goes unnoticed for as long as work is completed. Complaints are easily ignored.
Pros
You have a job.
Cons
They don't care about you.
