management will require you to travel long distance at your expense; cant rely on management; nepotism is strong at this company and just a bad work environment.

Encore is a good company for someone entering the trade. The pay is decent and the benefits are good. You can learn a lot if you put in the effort. However, after a couple of years the problems started showing. You are nothing more than an employee number to them. No matter how well you do your job or how hard you work you will get the same generic raises as people who do next to nothing. And there are way to many people at Encore who get away with doing nothing. Promotions are more about who you know and how much of the company kool-aid you are drinking. There are definitely good and competant people at all levels of leadership. But, they are outweighed by a slew of incompetent foreman. I had a foreman put me at risk with his stupidity, only to see the company do nothing about it. They preach safety, but at the end of the day it is about them preventing their culpability not protecting their workers.
