I worked for ECS for almost 6 years. The best company I worked for in the 38 years I have worked in the HVAC Controls business. The owner of the company and the management team were great to work with.

Great company culture and great people
Service Technician (Current Employee) - Fuquay-Varina, NC - March 4, 2021
I've been working for ECS since 10/16 and consider myself lucky to work here. The company culture is great in that the people are friendly, your co-workers are always willing to help, work/personal balance is always encouraged and management is always approachable. Their doors are always open unless there's a meeting going on. I've also seen this go beyond working hours as many people here become friends outside of work too.
Pros
Great pay and company culture
Cons
There is no dental plan but there is reimbursement.

BAS Technician - CX/PVT Dev (Current Employee) - Fuquay-Varina, N.C. - January 24, 2021
In different roles and various times throughout my BAS Technician and Management journey, I have found ECS to be a great place to work. Former and Retired US Military have an affirmative work environment and culture to "pay their experience and attention to detail forward". Self motivation, teach-ability, and initiative merge to opportunity. Mind-stretching and rewarding work.

My experience with ECS
Install (Current Employee) - Wilmington, NC - January 21, 2021
This is far and away the best company I have ever worked for. Management is proactive, relatable, and engaged but they do not micro-manage. Working here doesn't have to be just a job, if you want it to be, it can be a career. If you show initiative and want to grow, there is room for advancement and they encourage it. The benefits are great (medical, dental, vision, ira, vacation days, sick days). This is not that common in the construction industry.

Install Technician's Review
Install Technician (Current Employee) - Fuquay Varina NC - January 21, 2021
Days are sometimes long and I need to actively balance between work and personal life. Since I have been here I have learned a lot about different systems in a short period of time due to having a very intelligent team that is more than willing to assist me with anything I have questions about. If you are looking to switch your focus from one department to another, members of the team are even willing to teach you after hours.
The management has recently been restructured and as a result jobs are more organized and go smoothly. They are also very intelligent so they are able to answer any questions I have or can get me in contact with someone who will have an answer. I have always felt that I have been set up for success. There has not been a time were I felt I was lost and have no support.
The team is very friendly and share many mutual interests. We often will get together off hours to enjoy each others company.
In my opinion, there is no defined "hardest part of the job" because it has been a team effort to resolve any conflicts.
One of the nice things about this company is that if you are doing what you are supposed to, management is flexible with you if you have any personal conflicts such as having a doctors appointment. It is okay to leave work for an appointment and if you still work your full amount of hours for the week you do not have to use vacation/sick time.

ECS - Great Place to Work!
Service (Current Employee) - Fuquay-Varina, NC - January 20, 2021
ECS is the most professional company that I have worked for during my 30 years in the HVAC industry. I have all the resources I need to do my job, management is responsive to employee needs, and it is primarily an enjoyable atmosphere. Don't get me wrong; there are daily job pressures from customer satisfaction, deadlines and financial budgets; but the professionalism and can-do attitude greatly outweighs those factors.

Great team to be a part of!!
Project Manager (Current Employee) - South Carolina - January 20, 2021
I’m so glad I came to work with this team! The encouragement and support from other team members as well as management here is really great. I have worked in this industry for almost 20 years and this work atmosphere is by far the best. It’s a challenging industry but quite rewarding to be a member of this team.

Most rewarding
Sales (Current Employee) - Everywhere, SC - January 20, 2021
I would have to say that ECS has been one of the most rewarding places I've worked. We aren't perfect, but then no place is. I have the autonomy to go after my work as hard as I can. I have never felt micro-managed, though I can go to others for advice, support, and sometimes direction.
ECS is one of the larger independent Building Automation contractors in the region, but the work environment has not yet become "corporate" where you feel like just a number. At least that's my experience.
There are challenges, but overcoming them is half the fun.
I would gladly recommend working here.

Great place to work for
Computer Person (Current Employee) - Somewhere in the South - January 20, 2021
ECS is a great company to work for. They try to hire the best of the best. It's definitely a company with the most competent people in the field I've worked with. Management, overall, is friendly and fair. The CEO of the company has one of the biggest hearts I've personally seen. He actually cares about the well being of all of his employees. He will go above and beyond to make sure you have a career, not just a job, in this field.

Not just a job, but a career! Confident in a long relationship with this company.
Service Technician (Current Employee) - Fuquay-Varina, NC - January 19, 2021
I was hired as inexperienced as you could be. This company gives the tools and knowledge needed to be a great technician. All the while, giving grace and support when your learning. That is something you are always doing here, learning how to better your skills. ECS is absolutely a family environment. If you want to laugh, learn, and grow daily this is the place for you.
Pros
Explosive Growth Potential

Always learning, busy season is busy, great place for advancement.
Controls Technician (Current Employee) - Fuquay-Varina, NC - February 24, 2020
The main office is located in Fuquay, branches in Charlotte, Wilmington, and South Carolina. The office atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone seems to get along well. The company is on the low end of the pay scale for BAS jobs. It definitely isn't corporate. Management has a tendency to bite off more than it can chew, often leads to unhappy faces for a few months. Slow is slow and busy is BUSY at ECS. Health insurance is pretty mediocre. The company itself could do more for employees.
Pros
Company Vehicle, Friendly People.
Cons
Healthcare, No Yearly Bonus, Exhausting Busy Season.
