Friendly work environment but disorganized
Therapist (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXApril 22, 2018
Management has had a complete turn over recently. The local branches are disorganized and staff have had to take a pay cut. Therapy staff are not salaried and it can be difficult to fill your schedule. Patients frequently do not show for appointments which means you will not get paid for the visit, making your monthly salary unpredictable.
Pros
Friendly staff
Cons
Disorganized, low salary

Occupational Therapy Department Supervisor (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXApril 3, 2018
I have grown extensively while working at Epic Pediatric therapy. There is room for growth, a lot of mentorship and support from leadership staff, and healthcare benefits and full time salary positions are a plus if you are a leadership member.

Lack of support, unrealistic expectations
Supervisor/therapist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZMarch 1, 2018
Stressful environment with lack of support from upper level remote management. Unrealistic expectations to cover an extremely wide spread area. Workload demands and goals unattainable.

Hard worker (Former Employee) –  Tyler, TXFebruary 7, 2018
It was a great place to work when it was just Epic. They have merged and became Aveanna. Its way different and extremely exhausting. Put in atleast 50+ hours weekly for no return what so ever.

Epic Pediatric Therapy
Translator (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXNovember 17, 2017
Pay is very inconsistent at Epic. It all comes down to how many patients you get to translate for and there's a lot of no shows and careless mistakes everywhere.
Pros
Birthday celebrations
Cons
No career advancements and very inconsistent pay

Do not take this job
Therapy (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZOctober 12, 2017
Management will try to mislead you on just about every aspect of this job. There is no territory, you will drive all over. There are no clustered visits, you spend your time attempting to make all appointments. Benefits are terrible for therapists.
Pros
Flexibility in hours
Cons
Mostly all afternoon visits, benefits, poor management, poor orientation, limited resources

Therapy Referral Coordinator (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXOctober 2, 2017
Huge company, but poor leadership from regionals to operations directors. Leadership always putting blame on employees instead of looking a local management.

Local Office is falling apart due to poor management
Therapist (Former Employee) –  Beaumont, TXSeptember 16, 2017
The Beaumont office is hemorrhaging employees. Several concerns have been raised about local therapy director
and regional management has turned a blind eye to the employees concerns. Upper leadership does not have the necessary interpersonal skills needed to create a productive work environment. The reason why there are always multiple employment listings for the company is not because of growth, it is because of the large amount of turnaround with therapists leaving.

flexible schedule

Amarillo Therapy Director (Former Employee) –  Amarillo, TXMay 7, 2017
Epic began as an amazing company to work for. However, regional leadership tends to filter the overall mission of the company and focuses on personal gain and advancement. Beware of any leader or director asking you to complete unethical or inappropriate activities.

Difficult to build a caseload
Speech Language Pathologist (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXNovember 28, 2015
Management hires when they have a patient in a non-covered area, you are expected to build a full time caseload. It is very difficult to remain consistently full time. Operations support is weak. Patients frequently lose authorization and "fall through the cracks".

Productive and somewhat fun work place
Therapy Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMarch 15, 2015
My primary objective is to fax out/ follow up on documentation to be signed by the doctor for needed insurance authorization such as: Initial Evaluations, Re-evaluations, Re-evaluation Recommendations, Progress Notes, Discharge Notes, Medical Nutrition and additional documentation for new referrals for all three disciplines (Speech, Occupational &Physical Therapy) as needed for multiple markets.  I also help enter new referrals and follow up  I email the therapists and area managers on a daily basis for discrepancies in the paperwork that need to be amended or modified before being sent out to the doctor.  Create and maintain personnel files for all new therapists and oncoming ABA Aides  Scan and upload appropriate documentation to patients medical chart in Epic based software; coordination of care documents, admit paperwork.  Verify and upload visit logs.  Conduct background checks on prospective new employees through TX DPS website and CIA website.  Weekly review of Plan of Care Compliance and monthly review of Pending and Incomplete Lists

I do not think highly of the present management at the clinic I was working at. I believe they show favoritism at this company. I enjoyed working with my co-workers and the therapists were amazing to work with.
