They told me I had a job. Said you got the job but wait till the covid pandemic slows. Then they led me on for 2 months telling me to hang in there and then they out of no where put the job back up and hired someone else. His excuse was saying I didn’t have the experience. But when I interviewed I did. It was really shady deal

The Virginia Beach branch is where I worked, and I'll start off by saying STAY AWAY!!! The service manager's style of management consists of not doing anything until something makes him mad, then blowing up and yelling/screaming like a 2-year-old. He alone makes it a toxic work environment; however, the entire company is run so poorly it'll make you want to pull your hair out. There's almost zero communication from upper management, policies change almost weekly, and the reckless spending that happens tells me that they probably won't be around too long anyways.

Again, on a local level, here's why to avoid the Virginia Beach branch like COVID:

- Verbally abusive service manager (to multiple employees, including the

general manager who tried to have him fired for screaming/cussing at

him)

- Reckless spending

- Empty promises

- VERY high-stress work environment

- Almost zero direction from management

- Overcomplicates even the most simple of processes

- Nothing "team oriented" about working there

- Everyone is out to get each other

- You have to watch your back
Cons
Toxic work environment

Management does NOT care about about being number one in this industry or having good experienced employees. Its about management's personal preference of who stays and who goes.

Service manager is a harsh-speaking(uses curse words) angry task master that screams at you to vent their frustration and lack of job knowledge. They make you promises they don't and never intended to keep. The only break they allow you is lunch - 30 minutes in what usually ends as a 10 hour day. Don't work for this company - it's not what they tell you it is.

There is very poor leadership with little knowledge of the industry and there's some in management that have issues with following the guidelines they enforce.

The company itself is based off of people who worked in construction. If you don’t have that background then it’s definitely not a good fit. There is also some questionable things about their planning, like what the roadmap is.

Could be a great place to work if management didn’t try to hide and cover up issues amongst themselves ! Select Regional Managers misuse authority, cover for friends in the company, allow harassment and threaten employees. Good Ol Boys Club ! Stay away and don’t waste your time

The equipment assets are more important than the employees. There is no trust what so ever and upper management and corporate don’t even acknowledge you or say anything to you. Everybody is your boss. No possible advancement or relocation. Long hours, hard work, and little appreciation. You aren’t valued

Unless your a suck axx there is no chance for improvement and advancement. Management only listens to the one he wants to and that’s that. Like I say unless your a suck axx not a good place to work.

Since working at EquipmentShare i have dealt with a multitude of people, everybody is taught differently and leadership is lacking experience. I believe that the company could be a great place to work when better leadership and training is put into place.

The atmosphere at equipment Share is amazing. I would come in and make a cup of coffee. I then would grab my radio as I am looking at screen to see what was coming in and what was going out for the day. As a yard tech I would coordinate with the mechanics to see what needed maintenance. I would also communicate with the other Drivers as well as front clerks to ensure we had everything line up and properly matched.

It was a good company to work for at first but after going through so many managers and growing so big so fast. The store became hazardous environment to work in. Didn't know if you had a job or not being threatened all the time. The drama and morality was a problem. If you are a buddy or family you will get hired but if you don't fit in you will have to deal with the diversaty.
Pros
Insurance/hours

Poor management

EquipmentShare is unlike any other company I've worked for, heard of or even read about. The founders seek out people who are the best at what they do and get out of their way. I've never experienced a culture so in-grained in truly supporting their people, taking care of them and giving them what they need to succeed. The growth is intense but it's so exciting to be a part of the mission to uproot an industry and redirect the focus on the end-user who has largely been forgotten over the past decades. The founders are so passionate about what they are building and it is nearly impossible to not completely buy in to their vision. It's a rewarding place to work every day and the experience has been the best decision I've ever made.
