Field Service Technician in Tempe, AZ

Day to day service is straightforward and not technically difficult. Install projects can be a bit more challenging depending on the project coordinator you end up with. All said, not a bad job. The more you know, the more they'll expect from you without monetary compensation for the increased workload.

This is a small company that has very little communication between leadership and employees, lack of team meetings or inclusion in company decisions. You will not feel part of the bigger picture and there is a lack of action to make employees feel part of the organization as a whole, closed-minded leadership that doesn't listen to employee ideas/suggestions, unwillingness to find ways to remain progressive based on current trends or employee needs, inappropriate and unkind management who speak unprofessionally and at times yell at employees and are insulting when talking about employees, employee well being is placed much lower on importance level compared to customer service and hours worked. Policies are interpreted at will and there is favoritism. If you just want a job and a paycheck, where you mostly work alone and not as a team, and you don't want to feel truly part of a company where your skills are honed your voice is heard, where you don't want to gain training to grow in your job, this company is fine for you.

I have been with EST for 3 years and have had a very positive experience. The atmosphere is fast paced at times but controlled and well managed. Employees are encouraged to be self-reliant however, support is always available when needed. EST offers a good benefits package including matching 401K which is rare in such a small company. I have been part of some large scale installation and commissioning projects on military sites and general industry locations. Each project is unique and very interesting. I learn from my coworkers every day and we have become good friends and teammates.
Field Technician in Columbia, SC
on September 12, 2019
My experience working there was horrible. The "Service Manger " had no field experience and fully expected field personnel to work in excess of 20 hrs a day. It was expected to travel at a reduced compensation rate and if they flew you, at zero compensation. This company is set up purely for owner profit and zero concern for the employee. Not a good place to work

Poorly managed on a local scale, upper management needs to listen to employees. Great focus on customer satisfaction. Lots of opportunity for travel. Little to no home time. Pay scale needs attention.
