Business Intelligence in Remote
on March 18, 2021
We work well together, look out for one another, and keep it light as we go.
I'm on an EtiVenture team delivering data & analytics capabilities as a managed service to another young and growing company. In a relatively short timeframe, our team has built what is now the business source of truth with broad data ingestion and integrations, warehousing and self-service analytics. It's a fun transformation to be a part of, working closely with a company that previously tried on their own but failed to achieve the results we're now delivering to them. Our problems at the moment are the ones you want to have - the kind that come with the challenges of maturing processes, managing growth, and accelerating progress. In my role, though fully remote, I regularly interact with our team and business end users. Our team is agile and growing, with ample opportunities for learning and developing without the overhead a larger company imposes. That's not to say we lack what we need - management builds up the team as we widen scope, and gets business buy-in for modern, cloud-based tools that make our jobs and lives easier. As I said in the title, we work well together, look out for one another, and keep it light as we go - all you can ask for given the pandemic. It's a good thing too, because with the success we have had, there's no shortage of projects to go around.

The best aspect of the job is they fulfill what they promise. They are transparent in the recruitment process, feedback and communication on daily responsibilities. They heed to any concerns and ensure that we are heard.

Most employees work onsite with clients. Only been to the sales offices a few times but people are nice and friendly. They don't micro-manage employees but do support you when working with customers. Expectations are high but flex schedule is great as long as you get your work done.

Company is comprised on a mix of contract and consulting type resources. Nice team of people. Management is easy to talk with when raising issues, ideas or concerns. Fun place to work.

Great culture, transparency, and subject matter expertise. The clients that I've been exposed to are all solid mid-sized businesses with good reputations.
