Toxic culture, toxic people
Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaOctober 21, 2018
The managers at Everfi love to pat each other on the back for working for such a "charitable" company, yet they treat their own employees like dirt. They will do anything to get money for themselves ASAP without thinking about the bigger picture or long-term issues. Only a handful of people there aren't miserable - they are the ones that drank the Everfi Kool-Aid.

They love acting like they're one big happy family. If any of my family members treated me the way Everfi treats me, I would disown them.

Oh, and unlimited PTO is a scam. Companies that give you limited PTO will actually pay you for days not taken if you quit. Everfi chooses unlimited because they can still tell you when you can and can't take off, but they don't have to pay you out for days not taken.

Everything Everfi does is for Everfi - not for their clients or their lower-level workers. Don't think for a second they care about anyone but themselves.

Oh, and they love bragging about huge parties they throw, but they barely pay their workers and don't do bonuses. They also love piling on the work without raising pay.

Seriously, avoid this place like the plague.
Pros
There is nothing good about this place
Cons
Management, low pay, toxic culture, manipulation, pretty much everything

Company was great to work for

Every is very friendly and easy to get along with. EVERFI is very accommodating. They allow telecommute, standing desks, and have a nice kitchen that is stocked weekly.

Education company? Nope.
Schools Manager (Former Employee) –  RemoteAugust 19, 2018
EVERFI is overall a really well-minded company who has their heart in the right place. However, inconsistent management and the constantly growing, “hungry” corporate feel made me feel like I was working for a totally different company within a year of starting.

For those with a background in education, this is not an education company at all. You won’t be able to use your skills much as an educator and the learning curve for adapting to corporate life is steep.
Pros
Nice colleagues, generous maternity/paternity leave, feeling “special” to be in the center of creating and sharing a cutting-edge product/service
Cons
Poor management, DEI is just lip service, unreasonable goals, excessive travel despite being told otherwise in interview, inconsistent directives and expectations, no unity among teams, low salary for amount of work and hours put in, awful work-life balance, no flexibility despite being remote

Not as great as it looks
Worker (Current Employee) –  USAApril 12, 2018
Company has a great mission. Users are extremely grateful to have access to this free resource. It wants to be a player in K-12 ed tech but doesn’t properly staff or provide adequate resources to do so. People sell dreams to sponsors making it a challenge at time to fulfill these contracts. You do not get paid enough for all they require and you do not have paid internet for field employees. They are no longer a start-up but like to still use that term as an excuse.
Pros
Unlimited PTO
Cons
Salary, work/life balance, disorganized, unsustainable expectations, forced to get “numbers” in ways that I felt were morally unethical, understaffed.

This used to be a great place to work but the bad aspects of the company are overwhelming the good parts and the demands from investors are forcing bad decisions by management. T

EverFi is a very well meaning company. Employees really care about what they do and each other but career paths may not always be clear at a start up.

Great culture for a fast-growing company
Schools Manager (Current Employee) –  WashingJuly 31, 2017
EVERFI is growing rapidly and is trying hard to maintain the culture. The majority of the Schools Managers are remote, so it does take discipline to meet deadlines. While this is a relaxed atmosphere, it is also very fast-paced and deadlines need to be met. As a Schools Manager, it is difficult to move up within the company.

SCHOOLS MANAGER (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaJanuary 24, 2017
EverFi was a great place to work. They have great culture, resources, and perks. I departed because the position Schools Manager was heavy on the sales and I was not able to use my education background as much as I wanted.
