This employer is vastly unaware of the system of customer satisfaction and deliberate wellness, instead there is a great deal of vain correspondence and preconceived rulings that only really advance them and their model versus the people they are to be caring towards.

A hugely disappointing work experience, inside and out. This brand does not operate internally anywhere near the way they appear to operate externally

Everlane is a great place, there are great people to work with and there's a very energetic and positive environment when coming into work. On the downside scheduling can be strict.

I always felt really supported by my team and they were always really understanding and flexible with my schedule as I was balancing full time school work with my internship.

Very collaborative, supportive environment, but you have to be resourceful and motivated in order to stay ahead. Very faced paced environment and your successes are rewarded.

Everlane really wants to find ways to make clothing that is environmentally friendly! They also want to make clothes for every body type! I had so much fun working with the people. They are young, full of ambition, love what they do and they know how to make work productive and fun!

Soho is a gem in NYC, it takes a certain person to want to work there considering how much of a tourist destination it has become. The staff that work in the store are an eclectic group that embrace the area and make the work fun. However there is a divide between the management staff and the rest of the staff. Maybe it is because of the "Mom and pop" mentality they have yet to realize they've outgrown their infastructure, they've asked the foh/boh to out perform themselves to make "goals" yet even after months of surpassing these goals people are not giving proper reviews and growth plans in the company. The language used by the management is so relaxed that their message has been confusing to customers and employees, especially when their actions do not match their words.
It is contradicting to hire people who "have worked in the industry" yet they run this business as if nobody has worked in retail. This overcompensation of business practice undermines the mission statements made by the company.

Fast fashion and "sustainability" have intersected with this brand to the point where it is time to make moves and truly grow into a company that cares about the people with "Full Transparency".
Pros
Free food, location, inclusive staff
Cons
Overworked staff, polarizing management practices

It's upsetting to work for a company that has such strong views about sustainablility and using ethical factories but refuses to pay their employees a living working wage, even when they are promoted to full-time! To constantly fall back on the idiom "well, the retail model will never change" is insulting. The people who work their are some of the kindest people I have ever met but are overworked, under-payed and asked to perform at a level that doesn't meet the circumstances allotted. Higher ups speak in a language and with terminology that is from another planet. If you see your employees are dissatisfied, why would you pretend everything is great? Unfortunately, this opportunity is just like other internet sales to brick and mortar start-ups- they sell a changing-of-the-tides without giving an ounce of care about the people they employ.

The company culture here is great, but I personally did not feel as though management cared about the success of the employee. Compensation is very low - I knew several people who had to have multiple jobs in addition to their full time role at Everlane in order to pay their bills. The plus is that most people there are delightful to work with and they provide free food.
Pros
free lunches & breakfasts, events, happy hours
Cons
unpleasant work environment from management standpoint

Everlane is driven by its mission, and that is seen in everything that it does. However there were extreme oversights into career development, management and benefits. Work like balance is limited and there is a little support from hire-ups.
Pros
Free lunches, autonomy, young team, innovative
Cons
Low salary, limited benefits

The founder/ CEO is very involved which can be a positive thing but he's a jerk so it's bittersweet.

Teams are sometimes directionless and unable to keep promises.

Overall the company stands for positive and impactful goals (environment, labor laws, social justice). But they have trouble enforcing that on a granular level at the home office. Employee success is dependent on the specific team, but currently the growing pains felt here are dominant.
Pros
Rapid growth
Cons
They don't take care of their new hires. After the initial ramp up period, you're basically on your own.

I worked in Everlane's showroom in New York and their first retail store for almost a year. Management was always incredibly uplifting and suggestions for improvements from employees were always encouraged and embraced. Definitely transparent about upcoming launches, events, what was going on within the company, etc. Shift hours were a little bit long when I first started due to lack of employees, but were much more manageable once they hired more staff. If you are working retail, be prepared for BUSY days and being on your feet. A solid lunch break, as well as 15- minute short breaks given (mandatory 45 minutes for lunch but can take up to an hour). The best coworkers EVER- I still stay in touch with all of them and you will feel part of the group instantly. Truly a place where you feel that you are making a difference- work doesn't feel like work.
Pros
Fair pay, Good breaks, Encouraging management, Great Coworkers
Cons
Long days, On your feet most of the time

Great place to work with lots of room for growth and opportunities to be involved and advance as you wish. Managers are very open to communication and there are regular reviews so you are aware of your performance.
