A typical day is boring and routine, although in my morning job, particularly, I work very hard and need to be very organized. Have learned to be patient, resilient and resourceful. I currently work for a temporary services agency for a hospital/healthcare system. The workplace culture there is very congenial. The hardest part of the job in the morning is meeting the deadlines (4 hours) in which to complete the heavy workload every day. The most enjoyable part of the job is I know I am doing my best job and maintain a good work ethic.

Pros

The people in the healthcare environment are very congenial.

Cons

Salary and paid leave are limited as a temporary employee.

Transactional business - heavy turn over

Express only really cares about profits. They do not care about the workers they send out on contract. They do not care about the recruiters that work for them. They do not care about the clients they serve. They only care if people show up to their contracted jobs and if they get paid. However, the job is whatever you make of it. You can learn and get your foot into some cool companies. You can learn and become a better recruiter elsewhere for companies that actually care about people. Very transactional work environment.

They did a good job placing me in a decent position: However, when I needed them to tell me about other opportunities while I was working an indefinite assignment. They refused, so I am left to find a job by myself.

Absolutely terrible place to work

Regular temp agency. Does *not* take a cut of your pay, which is a plus. Office folks are nice and will swiftly get you a post. If you need more help than that or need to discuss something about your post it's hit or miss. The office folks don't always know what the actual jobs are like so plan on asking more questions of your coworkers once you get to your post about what your day to day experience will be like.

Not Enough Shifts

I've been working at Express for 2 years. At first it was easy to find shifts and I was able to keep my schedule full. Now there are very few undesirable shifts and it's almost impossible to find enough hours.

Little to no communication about jobs

Always have an attitude when calling in, or when asking for other job opportunities, they never answer questions in a matter of time. They don't think people/workers have emergencies. The attitude of the recruiters is unbelievable. Never working with this company again.

This location is always under staffed.

They’re not very diligent in finding you work. I did not learn anything from them. Always had to call the Maryville location to get any results. They are not very personable. Not helpful. Do not make others feel welcome.
