Work & Life Balance

It's the best around in childcare compensation.
EDS offers a lot of perks, they're family friendly, and they understand that life happens and offer flexibility. Honestly a great company to work for.

Working with children is rewarding in itself, and this position is no different! I have traveled to many different locations across the company and the culture and staff at each program is always inviting. Everyone here truly seems to love their job and what they are doing. The job can have long hours if you are working full-time and the split shift schedule isn't always ideal if you are not located near one of the sites. The company does offers various hourly bonuses for employees who work part-time and split-shift schedules though. Overall, this is a great position for teachers who do not want the pressure that other education positions may have.

I have been with Extended Day for about six years. I have seen the company change A LOT in that amount of time in a great direction. When I first started, they did not offer much of a benefits package. Now there are a lot of benefits including paid holidays and a matching 401K. With these additions I definitely look at my job with Extended Day as a long term position rather than temporary. Overall I think the company is doing a great job listening to employee feedback. Management is making a noticeable effort to keep employees happy. The families and the kids are great! I have a lot of fun working with the children and love the fact I can give my input with plans and activities. My biggest complaint are the long hours, but there is a break in the middle of the day. I wish there was a way to either work before school and K-Plus or K-Plus and after school.

The work is fun and varied. The kids are fun to be around. The split shift isn't always my favorite, but there are times a break in the day is nice. The directors are fair and easy to work with.

I have worked for the company for over 5 years and I can honestly say that the culture and total compensation has improved each and every year. The owners really do take pride in retaining staff by offering a competitive benefits package and salary. The company culture is supportive of staff with families, college students and individuals. My coworkers are the most supportive group of adults I have ever worked with and I actually look forward to coming to work most days. Is there room for improvement? Always. But I have every reason to believe that the improvements are not over yet. Overall, I enjoy the flexibility that this job offers, I love spending time with the kids in the programs and look forward to working alongside my coworkers.
