Saturdays & Mondays are supposed to be mandatory for all unless you use your PTO to request it off. But as you can clearly see from the other answers, no company consistancy.
It depends if the DM is hard in everyone.
It honestly depends on the store traffic and the management. Some sites are busy and need at least 2 managers on a Saturday and some sites are slow enough to not need even 2 people. Usually if you need a Saturday off and the site has coverage it's not an issue unless it's abused.
ESS is flexible as long as your site is covered and you aren't abusing it. They understand everyone needs a break.

I work a slower proeprty. I make the schedule for 2 stores. I have off 2 Saturdays in March as my normal day off. Really depends on your DM and if the trust you to know your stores business
