Toxic frat bro culture

I worked at the SaT transaction services at EY. The private equity firm mentality from clients got to this service line. Not much diversity left after the layoff in 2023.

enriching

My internship at EY was an enriching experience overall. One of the major strengths of this internship was the company's excellent reputation in the industry, which undoubtedly added value to my professional profile. I had the opportunity to work on diverse projects and collaborate with talented individuals, allowing me to expand my skill set and gain valuable insights into the world of professional services. The training and mentorship provided were top-notch and contributed significantly to my personal growth. Moreover, the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion was evident throughout my internship, fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment. On the downside, the workload could be demanding at times, requiring strong time management skills. Additionally, like any large organization, there were moments when communication between departments could have been more efficient. Nevertheless, my time at EY was a valuable stepping stone in my career, and I am grateful for the knowledge and experience I gained during my internship

Great place to work and learn however the pay seems quite low

The work culture totally depends on the team that you work with (more often than not bad). The role gives you a lot of oppurtunity to learn and advance however the pay is not great.

Pros

Travel, Diversity of oppurtunities

The cultural diversity is an apparent mandate for the company.

My duties allowed me to be the first point of contact, with this encounter generates what will be my next task. I handle all incoming calls, hoteling reservations, schedule meetings and arrange lunch and dinners for meetings for that day. I handle visitor badges and I take pictures for the ID badges. I am a liaison for the building engineer. I maintain the companies phone directory for our region and many other clerical task. The company provides training. Employees are recognized both privately and publicly throughout the cooperation. The hardest part of my job is clearing out my emails each day. The most enjoyable part of my job are the pleasant employees.

Pros

Too many to list

Cons

Having your department outsourced.

Toxic

Put in your time, make senior then leave unless you plan to stay and make partner. Winners are losers here because you almost always have to pick up other people's work. People are still getting promoted regardless of low performance and high performers are paid very little more than low performers which makes all the great people leave. No guidance, no appreciation whatsoever!!! It is ALL about the budget and margin and you will be forced to eat hours without being told so directly. Moreover, if you are bad luck, you will be put on the worst client and stuck there or working under manager who is lazy and belittles fellow employee.

Pros

Diversity, resume builder, flexibility, challenging work, great learning curve

Cons

Long hours, bad management, toxic work environment, and pay is way below market

The company has a good work life balance and encourage people to speak out. We also build relationship by doing the right thing. The hardest part of the job is meeting tight deadlines

Great place to work!

EY's workplace culture is dynamic! Inclusivity and diversity are embraced which makes for a healthy work environment. Managers are top-notch! Op-tempo varies but overall the stress level is manageable. There is nothing majorly complex about the job and someone is always available to assist.

Great opportunities to learn new things, lots of hours

Great thing about EY is the endless number of opportunities made available to their employees. They really do care about you as a person as opposed to a number. Work/life balance is not great and you are never "done" working - always something you could be working on. Like other big firms, promotions towards the top are pretty political.

Pros

Learning & Development, Diversity, Benefits, PTO (number of days)

Cons

Long hours, very political, no time to actually use PTO
