Front Desk Agent in Century Blvd., Germantown, MD.
Very comfortable work environment.
A very professional place to work. You are empowered, and exposed to all areas of hospitality. The team-work mentality makes situations that seems impossible, possible.
Housekeeper/Laundry in Durham, NC
Productive and good workplace
You get fifteen to twenty rooms to clean. You get paid by each room. Sometimes when I worked in laundry I get paid by the hour. I was paid every two weeks.
Second shift front desk in Jeffersonville, IN
The AGM needs training to even have a good front desk staff with real training!
Job security and advancementYour job is not safe there. They are always looking to replace people and they say the training isn’t the issue it’s the staff they hire. It’s 100% the training! There is no training there is a computer they sit you in front of for 20+ hrs and that’s how you learn your job!ManagementIn general, managers at Fairfield Inn & Suites SUCK! Definitely lack management skills themselves. Mostly AGM & HK managers both spend entirely way to much time on their phones and not enough time doing their jobs or training people. GM is never at work gone by 230-3pm every single day & always seems crabby.OverallMy experience working at Fairfield Inn & Suites honestly wasn’t the worst hotel experience I’ve had but they really need to relook at the management HK & AGM. The GM isn’t horrible just never ever there & really lacks people skills when dealing with his own staff.
Exec Housekeeping Manager in Schertz, TX
Work-life balanceIt is intense work for the housekeeping, maintenance and front desk dept. The GM is a great lady with many responsibilities but the corporate and higher management is not so helpful or involved. Working in hotels you honestly do not have a life, did this for 20 yrs.Pay & benefitsAs a Manager with 20 yrs experience $11.54 start pay was not leveled with cost of living.Job security and advancementSmall hotel so the key positions are locked in to team members who try to hold on for as long as possible so advancement is not often. Job security is good as long as you do your job. Again the GM is an awesome person to work for.ManagementUpper management is not as involved, furniture etc need upgrades but it is overlookedOverallGood for single young adults looking to learn, gain experience for future management roles in a more upscale hotel. Good for young adults looking to get job experience in customer service.
Front Desk/Night Auditor in Corbin, KY
No room for growth
Work-life balanceEasy job but long hoursOverallNo room to grow. No health insurance no regular evaluations for raise in pay. Overall not the best place to work as a career but if you were a young person and it was your first job it would be ok
