If you were in charge, what would you do to make Family Dollar a better place to work?

I would first hire 2 assistant manager 2cashiers and at least 1 stocker to work each shift ..I would also make sure every store had a truck team in place for truck day...I would increase the payrate by $2 starting with CSRs...I would make sure everyone gets every other weekend off...and use shelves behind the counter for high theft items...give incentive bonuses to all staff members who come to work in uniform and on time for the pay period...and DMs actually come out to the stores and assist on the floor when needed

Allow more payroll hours so the store manager can schedule 2 people to open and 2 people to close. Update or add new software that can better track inventory and give store managers more control on what is order for the store to help with less overstock sitting in the back room. Also would start a new program inside each district were each store would give an employee to join a special team that travel through out the district doing inventory, reset, remodel and many other project instead of hiring a 3rd party team to do it. This would give employees that want to show their worth more of an opportunity to do so and help the financial stability of Family Dollar employees as well.

Keep the store Organized so people can find things keep the store stocked so that customers dont have to take their business elsewhere and hire people that actually care and are willing to get from behind the counter and show customer service to the people that come in (a smiling face ,warm hello and letting people know you are there in case they need your help is always welcoming and makes people want to return and do bussiness -but as right now i have no faith all the good workers are leaving and our small town store is falling apart leaving us to go somewhere else to spend our money the shelves are disorganized or empty almost 90% of the time the store is dirty and seems like no one there cares no hello may i help you only employees behind the counter on their cell phones or just standing there doing absolutely nothing letting time slip right by them

Most Family Dollar Stores I go into are VERY unorganized. I would love to be an employee to help with this problem, but I'm finding it very hard to apply online.

Family Dollar needs to have more security at night especially. I had a gun pointed at me in Grandprairie Texas after closing the store. Thank the good Lord I am still alive. The camaras didn't even work on the outside by the front door where me and a co worker had a masked man pull a gun on us. And according to family dollar clinic they send you too. Me and my co worker were not physically hurt and they feel we are still able to do our job. But in reality we are both so Tramitized its hard to go back to a normal life. We need counseling.

Allow people 2 work their hrs,n not be afraid not 2 work on there day off.when ur call 2 work on ur day off not b afraid 2 say no without being bully,made 2 feel guilty. R have ur hrs cut because they now say ur not dependable.

Schedules need to be posted two weeks in advance. Schedules being posted the day before the work week begins is crazy. They have to stop docking people's hours for asking for time off, especially when they don't post their schedules in advance and routinely change schedule mid week if they have an employee that they are docking for asking for time off.

I would hire great team members without being afraid to let the bad ones go, improve communication, make the office comfortable.
